Hunter S. Thompson's on the roof
And he's shootin' anything that moos
The Bus is rollin' on down the road
All we wanna do is lose
All that fat from our SAD days in July and June

So pass by every fast food drive-up
And throw that Frankenfood out the window
Stay on the Bus and let's rock and roll
We've got so many places yet to go

Hang on tight and don't lose sight
On the Bus you've got lots of friends
Who will keep you sane and always light
Cuz this trip will never end

Oh yes, I will certainly stay on the Bus for the rest of my life. Haven't strayed once in the almost four months I've been back on it, and will keep joining the challenges. Don't write in my journal, I keep that at ZC, but hope that's OK!

I feel kind of like YOU, but dragging myself behind the Bus...now I am running to catch it.
Had not been working out like I planned....back on that today. I am getting rid of my jiggle.
I am also getting rid of any tiny amounts of carb I have been ingesting by plan or mistake.

In all seriousness..besides my few alcohol binges this month (head held in shame)..I am very much on the Bus..and will have clocked about 200 miles on my bike for July..and lifted weights 3 days a week..did my push-ups..and stayed in Onederland..and even dropped a few more pounds to maintain 195.

So what are my goals for August???

*Stay on my food plan which seems to evolved into: (for the summer anyway)

Primarily meat and fat (including fish and poultry)
No grains of any kind
limited veggies from the garden which I grow
small amounts of berries which I grow
some dairy
coffee

*eat less cheese
*stay away from alcohol the best I can
*eat more consistantly
*keep my total carbs around 20 or less a day

*start riding hills and longer distances
*get up earlier to exercise
*bump up the weight training routine
*not use the bus as a SAG wagon unless I rode over 50 miles..haha
****get into the "overweight" category instead of the "obese" one..which is 6 pounds away for me.

Anyone else have any goals they would like to achieve in August?

*add some raw walnuts and the occasional apple to that food list

I know it's a bit weird, but when I do something, I just don't stray. I do make mistakes, like the cheese and cream in the past, but I intend to eat meat and drink water in August. I can have one real coffee a day and further decaf or (decaf) tea. Maybe I will have a little bit of cheese on my birthday, but I'm not sure yet. I might also have some extra T-bone instead of pork ribs <g>.
In my mind sugar and white flour are poison for me, and fruit en vegetables only make me hungry, make me stall and create cravings. So I don't really have much choice, do I, if I want to be happy and healthy in a reasonably normal body...

There is nothing weird at all about y0u having found out what works for y0u...I commend y0u for it indeed!

I agree with y0u about sugar and flour..actually all grains...I feel much better without either.

My war plan for August is to stay under the radar, avoid confronting enemies (carbs and co-workers) and spend time with friends that do not threaten me in any way:

Meat, fish, eggs, some cheese and some dairy and my daily cup of coffee or two.

This is all I've been eating for 45 days now and don't seem to be halting my weight loss at all, so here's to August  Wine

OK< the plan for August is steak for late breakfast and prok ribs for dinner, and I will come and report when I do anything else! It seems such a waste of time to come in here every day and write the sameold, same old!
I will also come and report the stats for my 4th month on ZC around the 7th.
I am losing weight, although it's working a bit slower than I would like, but still, I am happy that things finally got working!
And I feel so much better!!

I'm moving down to FL on the 23rd, and going to Texas Roadhouse to Celebrate.

After today the agenda for food for August for me should be strictly meat (including the occasional sausage, bacon, or fish) & water, and a little decaf coffee.

No veggies, nuts, dairy, or fruit is my plan, of course this is after my peanuts & salad tonight at the ol' Texas Roadhouse =)

August 1st, 2009

Starting weight today is: 210.6

Tried to take my BG reading and only got 59.4. So I guess I'm dead  Grin

Will try eating more beef, and some pork, seafood, eggs. Don't plan on giving up my coffee though.

Day 1

Food

chuck steak
ratatouille with sausage
salmon patties
boiled eggs
poppers
iced coffee with half and half

Exercise, 20mile bike ride this afternoon after work.(it was 90 degrees out..bad bad idea) Wow

Gonna be a busy work week for me..got lots of hours and will have to eat dinner at 11 pmish.  Will make sure I have lots of cold prepared food ready like steak and chopped liver..salmon patties etc..otherwise I tend to just not eat dinner.

Luckily I got mostly evening hours so I can ride in the mornings when it's nice and cool out.

Day 1 - Decaf Coffee, Side Salad (cheese, eggs, lettuce, tomato) w/ blue cheese dressing, a few pieces of broccoli, a prime rib, and peanuts (!). [Went to Texas Roadhouse)

For the sake of the bus, I'll list my food for today, however I consider my August Challenge "unoffically" starting tomorrow since I went a good amount more lax today than I intend to for the month. (Damn those peanuts they're so addictive).

Day 2:

Ribeye
Chicken Salad (w/mayo & olives)
Bacon

Mixed it up a little yesterday - it was hot and humid and I was exhausted and just wanted something cool and comforting. Haven't had commercial mayo or olives in months - it hit the spot.

I spoke too soon on the steak last night,
Iwas taken out for a surprise dinner at Laguna Beach's French 75
so omit the steak on my last post, add:

Escargots with garlic and butter
Chicken with truffle butter
1 glass Pinot Noir 3.6 carbs

Yum.
