February Carnivore Challenge

All foods should be as natural, fresh, and whole as possible. Animal fat should be kept high, and carbs kept under 20g per day.

Allowed
* any part of any animal
* eggs
* dairy
* vegetation
* olive/nut oil
* condiments, seasoning
* water, tea, coffee, alcohol

Disallowed
* no grains or legumes
* no vegetable oils
* no artificial sweeteners
* no frankenfood or fake food

OK. Here's the deal. To get into this Challenge, simply copy this list into a post and customize it to suit your individual goal for the month of February. Hold yourself accountable to that, and see how many days you can adhere to your version of Carnivore eating.

Have fun experimenting with things and sticking to your goal. Cool

Sunny

Dean, I have a newbie question.  I am not sure how you all count carbs here, as in how strict.  Do you count things like herbs and garlic?  I use Fitday for carb counts and it's very precise, and I don't believe in that net carb BS. Do you count coffee?  How many carbs in the Kool-Aid?

I am asking because my challenge for February will be very low carb.

Thankyou fearless leader..or earless feeder...or whetever you are..

y0u count carbs just like y0u count cars. It's pretty simple, really. Grin

Seriously, y0u can use FitDay or just guesstimate. Most people don't bother with counting the carbs in seasoning or ZC condiments that say 0 carbs on the label. Eggs and dairy and any rubbish vegetation are a little different, but, FitDay and those types of tools will do that job for ya. Cool

The only thing y0u need to count with the Kool-Aid is how many liquid layers of sound/colors y0u walk through as y0u move to or from the back of the Bus. Wow

Now here's a challenge a girl can really sink her teeth into!  Dean, thanks so much for coming up with a theme for next month that allows for a little more room to play for those of us who haven't gone full on all-meat, all-the-time yet   Happy

I'm IN! :D

Hey one question? What about eating out? Like at our little neighborhood Mexican place where they cook everything from scratch or eating wings at Buffalo Wild Wings where they cut their own wings and I bring our own sauces?

They fry in lard but I'm betting it isn't the good stuff. Is that an off plan eating event?

Here are my rules:

All foods should be as natural, fresh, and whole as possible. Animal fat should be kept high, and carbs kept under 20g per day.

Allowed
* any part of any animal
* eggs
* dairy
* vegetation
* olive/nut oil
* condiments, seasoning
* water, tea, coffee, alcohol

Disallowed
* no grains or legumes
* no vegetable oils
* no artificial sweeteners
* no frankenfood or fake food

Pooti, its up to you.

I still eat McDonald's double cheeseburgers from time to time. Of course, I order them plain and throw away the bun.

Amanda,

You could perhaps cut down every day, until you barely did any. That's how I got off the java. I quit wine cold turkey, but, I had already cut way back, so it was not too bad. There is an initial withdrawal period for anything you have developed a habit for, but, you'll get through it, and then you won't miss it anymore. Cool

I'm in with Dean's plan.  This is mostly how I've been eating with the exception of yesterday.  My husband made wings in vegetable oil and I had hot sauce, but nothing else on the disallowed list.

All foods will be as natural, fresh, and whole as possible.
Animal fat will be kept around 80-90%.
Carbs will be under 5g per day.

Allowed
* muscle and fat from any animal (clean, fresh cuts)
* eggs
* butter
* cheese
* dry seasoning
* water

Disallowed
* no plant matter (except dry seasoning)
* no oils/fats (except animal fat)
* no beverages (except water)
* no condiments
* no artificial sweeteners
* no artificial anything
* no frankenfood or fake food

Gah, I haven't been able to look at food in about two days--stomach flu and girl stuff.   Puke  I'm feeling a little better so I may do a steak tonight.
