Pick your shopping list, stick with it, see how many inches or pounds you'll lose this month..
See how long you can go without adding anything not on your shopping list.
Come here and post your daily food intake and be accountable!
How many pounds will you lose?

Hey Lynne...that sounds like a great new plan for September! High Fives to ya!!
BTW, anyone know why I can't log into this site using FireFox browser instead of IE? _________________ Bobi

Bobi, I've recently switched to Firefox, and I've had no problems.
It's probably all your fault. _________________ Eat, Drink and Be Merry, For Tomorrow We'll Die |

Well...jeff, that goes without saying, I know it's always my fault...but did you do anything different when you switched? I used both passwords, but can only log in here if I use IE. FF won't recognize me!!! I also sent for a new password, got it, redid everything in my Profile...still the Magic Bus thinks I'm 'invalid'!!! _________________ Bobi

I use Firefox. No problems. Can you log on other boards using FF? If not it means your browser settings need top be changed.
Or maybe you are talking too much about vegetation and you were just banned and Jeff is too polite to tell you. _________________ "Faster, faster, faster, until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death." - Hunter Thompson. |

My shopping list for September..
Same old same old..
meat, seafood, poultry
dairy
some produce from my garden
berries I've grown or picked
walnuts
coffee
stevia
eggs
and hopefully some lust and fun...I have raging horomones..have been for several weeks now..not sure what's going on there...
And to keep up with the exercise routine and a little less booze this month..I sort of overdid it.
I would like to get into the 170's this month..that would indeed be grande!! _________________ Flap-a-doodle-kick-a-poodle-kitty-kitty-cow-cow ~ Fat Freddy's Cat |

i would love nothing better than to get through the 160's, i haven't seen the 150's since 1980's...
keeping myself accountable here reduced the number of booze/sugar days for me...
shopping list will be the same.
i had no fish taco's in the month of august.
1 beer and 3 sm glasses of sangria.
that's the best i've done in months! _________________ "Failure is an opportunity to start again more intelligently." |

Starting the month off at 206.4. It's been extremely hot (for me) here and I'm retained a bit of fluid.
Shopping list will be: coffee, salmon, fatty pork chops, chicken livers and thighs, shrimp, cream, butter, lard, some cheese, bacon and eggs. _________________ Carnivore (Jun 12/09) 227/196.2/137 Max. wt: 247 (Jul-08)

Okay, I'm in for September.
I would say my usual foods but, the list keeps changing. Sometimes I just want burgers, other times tri-tip steaks or ribeye or NYs. I think I will add lamb this month. Haven't had it forever but I think it's time to add variety in the meat from just beef.
Today, 3 slices bacon, two eggs fried in bacon grease, black coffee.
I have been reading Mark's Daily Apple. Any thoughts on that? The one poster there, ChuckyZ, has had amazing results and reversed so many issues and yet his diet is not in any way zero carb. In fact it's more like y0u's WOE with fruits and veggies (in season only, I believe) _________________ zero carb |

Hey Miriam, good to see you back. come play with us! lolol
in re to mark's daily apple, my thoughts are this:
whatever you can do to control your eating, show results, and be happy is what works. not all pajama's fit each one of us the same way. some of us choose to sleep naked!;)
Y0u is doing very well and in control of her intake.
and her pictures are beautiful.. but someone like me would binge on her fruit tarts, or her tomatoes w/pesto... variety gets me into trouble.
edited to add: this is the only way that I can eat and have control of my intake. food has to be an non issue. _________________ "Failure is an opportunity to start again more intelligently." |

Figuring out what works for y0u is the hardest part. Especially when you see other people having success with a plan that doesn't work for you...it's frustrating and confusing..and just unfair.
I've tried a lot of things. ZC, VLC, no exercise, tons of exercise, various fat percentages, unlimited calories, restricted calories, no dairy, just beef...standing on my head while eating...(kidding)...
What I am doing now seems to be working..but you know..that may change too..but one thing I know has helped me a lot is doing my best to rid myself of stress...which btw I am really bad at. I really don't think about food much. It's not the enemy..it's just essential. When I think about food, I think about what I can eat..not what I can't.
Hope everyone has a great September...and let's start relaxing and live a little..or a LOT! _________________ Flap-a-doodle-kick-a-poodle-kitty-kitty-cow-cow ~ Fat Freddy's Cat |

Yes, count me in too! What works best for me is as close to zero carb as possible. I will allow some carbs (fruit tart) when I lose more.
Start Weight: 175.2 still in the obese category at 5'-4"
Foods for September:
Poultry/Meats except pork
no eggs
heavy cream in decaf coffee
decaf tea
dry spices, fresh herbs allowed
I am going to say no wine, no challah even on Shabbat. That will be a tough one, but in the immortal words of yOu, I wrote it, now I have to do it.
Goal: 4 carbs per day or less.
Be quickly and well in the middle of overweight category, and leave obese way behind.
Have fun everyone, who's next? _________________ http://www.fitday.com/fitness/Pub...urnals.html?Owner=surfergirlpuppy

I'm in to stay accountable this month. It's been a while since I've made it a whole month, so I hope this will help keep me on track.
My list is long so I won't put the whole thing here - I'm staying under 20 carbs a day with the carb count coming from eggs, dairy, veg, nuts, a little processed meat (cold cuts and sausage).
I'm going to try not tracking my food in fitday this month 'cause I get crazy obsessed with it.
Starting the month at 209 and really hoping to see onederland again by October. _________________ Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to loose - Recorded by Janis Joplin |

I don't know much about astrology but that must explain it because everyone I run into is going through very severe mood swings and crazy stuff right now. I certainly am..don't know what's going on in my body but my loins are friggin on fire..and my temper is very very short.. _________________ Flap-a-doodle-kick-a-poodle-kitty-kitty-cow-cow ~ Fat Freddy's Cat |

I had tri-tip pieces for dinner and then for no good reason that I can think of (since I know the consequences) I ate a teensy little salad.
OMG, IBS today-bad news. Time to get out the heavy meds. Okay, lesson learned AGAIN!
Breakfast, two 85/15 burger patties. Dry, dry, dry. Added butter in pure desperation. _________________ zero carb |

Sometimes we just have to be happy even if everything is not quite what we want.
I am 62 and I have no cellulite and no stretch marks.
Yes, I still have a ways to go to get to my best but, I just wanted to be happy about a little thing.
OK, done now. _________________ zero carb |

Food Day 2:
Brisket
Tandori meat plate (lamb chunks, ground lamb-kebab, chicken tandori)
There were lots of left overs, and my puppy had some of the chicken.
decaf coffee/HC
tea iced
So day 1 carbs=3.5 and
day 2 carbs=2.0
so far so good.
Katie-you can do it! a little treat is not the end of the trip. Let's go on the bus together! I have High Holidays coming up starting Sept 18, which will have my favorite Jewish foods and drink, but I will need the support of all of you to keep on the bus. _________________ http://www.fitday.com/fitness/Pub...urnals.html?Owner=surfergirlpuppy

Alright girls...A little pep talk is in order. Stop the binging on bad stuff and just friggin knock it off. Go for a walk or do some crunches when you need a "cookie" or a shot of wine..and I'll do the same...Let's get September off to a better start..
Cookies and wine...they are divine
I should just tape them..to my behind...
In my dreams I hear their sighs
whispering things to my huge thighs...
But instead I think..
YES..I DO THINK
I shall have some meat
and not a drink..

Kate - Can I suggest a new challenge for you? What if you commit to posting in your journal every day. Doesn't matter if you are on track or not, just come here once a day and post something. It's a commitment that you don't have to be clean to maintain and maybe in the process it will help your resolve. I did this for 30 days myself and I found it to be very beneficial.
Let us know if we can help. |

Kate, no matter how many times you fall, it helps to record your food.
would it knock your socks off if i told you that i ate 1/2 gallon of ice cream the other day, all by myself?
how about 1/2 gallon + 1 quart...
but i got back on the bus and just kept going.
i won't get on the scales until the end of september...
but i fell hard, like i usually do.. but i get back up.
it's ok, really..
we're not here to judge you. _________________ "Failure is an opportunity to start again more intelligently." |

Thanks everyone, what I meant was that I won't be posting in this thread again. I'm still hanging onto the bus, closer to being in the baggage compartment though _________________ Carnivore (Jun 12/09) 227/196.2/137 Max. wt: 247 (Jul-08)

Exercise, 25 mile bike ride, weight training, push-ups...did not do crunches
Really did not want to exercise today..did it anyway..and boy oh boy am I higher that crap on adrenalin. I also got to see an egret and a fox. I passed about 5 people on the bike path and did 3 sets instead of 2 sets with my 25# dumb bells...that would be 145 miles so far this week.

Drank some wine last night...not gonna beat myself up over it...cause I ROCK!! ...and even though I did not want to exercise..I just flippin went out and did it.. _________________ Flap-a-doodle-kick-a-poodle-kitty-kitty-cow-cow ~ Fat Freddy's Cat |
