Hi everyone! Guess I'll be Carleen on this board, but some of you know me as "CountryBelle" from the Zero Carbage board.
I have been doing zero carb since August, and have lost 23 pounds since then. To be honest and up front with you all, I have no plans to remain zero carb for life--I am just hoping to lose the weight, and move back to low carb...
This seems like a friendly place to hang out. Hope to get to know y,all better soon...

Hi Carleen,
You and I are of the same mindset about ZC. I am eating meat and water only right now but if the weight comes off, I will consider adding cheese, eggs, butter and possibly a few veggies back in. I may also stay at ZC - I am leaving both doors open. Right now my goal is to make it through January at zc and then go from there.
Welcome aboard the bus, I sometimes lurked in your journal on the other site. Great to have you here.

I am so glad to see you here.
This board seems to be more about eating carnivore than zero carb. I eat eggs, cheese, cream, etc.
You may be surprised at what you want when you have been eating this way for a while.
I have no cravings for anything anymore. Once in a while I want chocolate and someday I may buy some, but no veggies, salads, fruits, etc., interest me.
Check out the January How Low Can You Go challenge. It's just for fun and I'm doing great.
I was really hoping to win when I was sick and had zero carbs one day but Val told me 'Not Quite'.
Actually she said "Good Try" but I'm thinking she meant not quite yet.

Thanks for all the welcomes, everyone!
The challenge sounds fun, but I had 54 carbs just in the last few days, so there's no way I'd even come close to winning!!! _________________ Carleen (a.k.a. "CountryBelle")

to the Bus, Carleen!
The January Challenge is for fun, like most things on the Bus. Hey, if we can't have fun in life, what's the point? Besides, humor is the best medicine and essential to good health.
Yah, and Miriam's got it right. The Bus is about carnivorous eating. This board is dedicated to Bear, BTW. He includes dairy, seasoning, and even uses nut oils for some things, but, realizes the value of rare/raw meat and eggs for good nutrition, eating only when hungry, and that sort of thing. I think he is real when it comes to dealing with modern acculturation, and incorporates that into his very long path of eating as close to how our ancestors did. But, just as Bear found a way to make it work for that long, so too do we need to figure out our own individual ways to make it work. Our bodies will help us along with this, if we listen to them. It's all an experiment to find our way, and we're all here to help each other with that trip.
For me, it's about how animal fat is the cornerstone to good nutrition, and vegetable oils are quite possibly the most dangerous substances one can put in their body. Of course, think how contrary to modern "expert" health advise that runs. That's what the Bus is about. Support for a very misunderstood WOE, that, if one understands anything about evolution and genetics, should be embraced. I've already met so many who have benefited from this WOE, and I myself feel fantastic on it.
But, just remember, there's physical health, and then there's mental health. We need to take care of both.
So, as Grace Slick said... feed your head. _________________ When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace. - Jimi Hendrix Every day you'll see the dust
