Hello
Im very active 23year old male and im really interested in health, performance and have a low bodyfat % like 6-8%. Im around 10-12 now i guess.
I have asthma and i really want to get ridd of that. Anyone have experiences with curing the asthma on high animal fat eating?
I havent bin on high fat for long, maybe 2 weeks and i have to say that my performance is CRAP. I play alot of soccer and im really good but on this high fat im heavy and just so slow.
When it comes to get down and maintaining 6-8% bodyfat do i have to cut calories or will it do by eating high fat and watch protein and carbs?

to the Bus, Trygve!
I know what I'd do if I were your age. I would protect myself against all the illness that carbs will surely bring on throughout a lifetime of abuse.
Or maybe not. Maybe I'd just have fun. _________________ When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.

Hi Trygve, and welcome.
I've never had asthma, so I can't speek from experience. If asthma is one of the "diseases of civilization", then it is most likely caused by excessive sugar and refined carbs. I'm not sure if eliminating these things can reverse asthma. But I kinow it won't make it any worse.
As for bodyfat %, it is probably likely that you'll have to restrict calories to get to 6-8%. _________________ Eat, Drink and Be Merry, For Tomorrow We'll Die |

Dean, you and I are the same age. I think that's exactly what we did at his age. _________________ Eat, Drink and Be Merry, For Tomorrow We'll Die |

I had really bad asthma for 18+ years. When I stopped eating grains and reduced my alcohol intake to once a month, my asthma went away almost completely. I have used my Albuterol inhaler twice in 8 months, and my Advair once.
I bicycle regularly now and have no breathing issues, and lift weights..I feel great! _________________ Flap-a-doodle-kick-a-poodle-kitty-kitty-cow-cow ~ Fat Freddy's Cat |

Stephen Phinney did a study that showed that physical performance on high fat low carb was back to normal after 6 weeks (on the new diet). If you kept it up, maybe by now you are experiencing this?
