I tried to upload the photos of Sylvester last night but for some reason my computer would not let me do so in the normal way so I put the photos up on my Webshots page. Excuse the blurriness of the photos. I need to buy a tripod asap as my hands are a little shaky when I take pics.

Here is the link....hope it works.....

Heck, no! It would never survive. He would think it was a feathery yellow playtoy.

I've always wanted a canary though. Yup

Jaime! What a gorgeous cat! I love cats with white breasts and paws! He looks sorta like my Klondike, except he's got black instead of gray in the same places on top. He looks real soft and cuddly! Yup

BTW... you can check my cat pics at my web link.

Cats have to be the greatest creatures on this planet! Cool

Very nice cats you have there. I love the cats with the white chests and paws too. After Winks and HER owners move out ( sometime after my grandson is born) then I was going to find a marmalade cat with a white chest and paws.

Thanks. I love it too. He is such a big suck....and getting bigger everyday.

At what age does a male cat stop growing? He isn't even 6 months old yet and is twice the size of his sister.

Klondike was the largest cat in the litter. He had huge paws as a kitten, and I knew he would be big. He now weighs at least 17 lbs. He is 2 1/2. He stopped growing at around 1 1/2 or so... maybe closer to 2. I raised him and his siblings on nothing but raw meat. Now he eats only raw deer meat. He is very healthy. His coat is so nice and soft. I was just looking at Sylvester again. What a sweet, gorgeous cat! He does remind me of Klondike. He appears to have pretty big paws. How old is he and what does he weigh now?

BTW... it makes a HUGE difference what you feed them. The litter Klondike is from had identical twins. My x got one of them, and a friend of hers got the other. After just one year, her cat was twice the size of her identical sister. Her friend fed the other cat dry kibble. My x feeds her cat raw meat.

Currently he eats Purina Cat Chow which was what his mother was eating when I had her. It was the ONLY food she would not barf up.It is supplemented with raw ground beef, fish, chicken and any other meat or eggs I can give him which depends on whatever I am eating at the time.
He adores scrambled eggs. Today he is eating some canned tuna because I ran out of cat chow and need to get to the grocery store. I try to feed him as best I can with the money I have. His fur is pretty shiny so I think I am doing okay. I try to give him a lot of fish.

He will be 6 months old on February 13 of this year. He has HUGE paws as well but seems to be growing into them. LOL I'm not sure of his weight but he feels like 10 pounds when I pick him up.

I'd like to put him on a higher quality cat chow then the one he currently eats but my oldest son and his gf also live with me as well as thier cat Winks(Sylvester's younger sister from the same litter. Sylvester was the first born.) The expense of feeding 4 people (one being pregnant and due any day now) and 2 cats is getting a bit much for my meagar disability income.

I have brother and sister litter mates that are just over 7 months old and the boy is huge compared to the girl.

Dean, they can grow to 17 lbs????? I know my boy is about 10-12 lbs now.

Klondike may be closer to 18 lbs. They can and should grow that big, but only if they are eating their natural diet... raw muscle meat. As I said, the identical twins are a perfect example. One was twice the size of the other in just one year because of what she ate.

A few years ago, I got a cat from a friend, that was just a few pounds at 6 months, and only made it to about 8 or 9 lbs. He died of a blocked urethra at the age of two. My vet said it was extremely small, and that is why it got blocked. Before I got this cat, it had been raised on dry dog food, if it even got the chance to eat that. It had terrible mange, and was extremely malnourished.

After this cat died, I was so sad, and I went and got his mother and her newborn litter of six, that were just a few days old, and raised all these kittens up on raw meat. I was determined to get my pick of that litter, and raise that cat on a strict meat diet. Klondike is now 2 1/2 years old, and is about 18 lbs. He is the pick of that litter, and my only cat now. The deer meat he eats is so nutrient dense, that I only feed him a few ounces a day. The meat is so cheap, that I probably spend only around $15.00 a month feeding him.

Jaime, do you give Sylvester raw egg yolks? My cats loved those, especially when they were growing up.

I've never tried giving him raw egg yolks but I can put one in a small bowl in the morning and see if he will try it.
I just bought 3 packs of 18 eggs so doing that is no trouble.

These are the things he gets raw from time to time....

beef....ground or cut in small chunks (depends on what I am using at the time)
fish
bacon
chicken
lamb

I just cut a few peices off whatever I am preparing and toss it to him and his sister. They seem to sense when I am in the kitchen and come running when I'm preparing something and sit patiently waiting for whatever comes there way.
It's pretty cute to see them sitting waiting with that look of anticipation in thier eyes. Heart

I gave him a raw egg yolk but I don't think he cared for it much. He lapped up a little bit of it and left the rest on the plate. It is still sitting there, on the floor, next to thier food dishes.
Maybe Winks will eat it, whenever she wakes up.
