Saturday and Sunday:

Walked up to the park for 2 miles then ran back down 2 miles,  stretched for 25 minutes.





I must confess, 2008 has been up and down as far as low carb eating.

Started out great for the first 3 months and only lost 5 lbs.   I could not get motivated to exercise.

Started and stopped low carb serveral more times and exercise was also hit and miss.

I am determined to make low carb my way of life.

It took many attempts to quit smoking and I finally did (16 years).

Today was  a down day with low carb.

I was doing fine until a co-worker son who is a pastry chef brought in a cake and she insisted I try a piece.  At first I said no, then I had a small piece.  Then I wanted to kick myself.  I ended up eat a high carb meal for dinner.

Now I feel like crap and have to start all over again.

This is much harder than quitting smoking.

This is just a endless battle.

Hang in there Shawn!  Each new day is a new opportunity to understand yourself a little better.  The more you know the better you will be at finding a solution.  The battle can be won!

Yes,  that is true.   Which would make one wonder why we go off plan.

I've said it time and time again.   I feel better, look better and certainly behave better when I cut out processed carbs, wheat and sugar.

So why do I continue to try to go back to my old habits?   I know better.


At least this time I didn't let it go on for a long period of time and other than severe heartburn and gaining a few pounds (which are gone now)I've finally discovered that I do have an allergy to wheat.

My new and final goal: 130  lbs

I've been running 4 days a week and lifting weights 3 days a week.

I feel good.  Cool  Sunny  Cool

Since the January 1, 2009, I've lost 30 lbs.

What really seemed to trigger my weight loss was giving up caffeine.

Dropping caffeine does seem to help some people.  Thank God I never found it necessary!  LOL

I gave up caffeine recently due to the fact it made some neck pain worse (burning, irritation, annoying) on the right side of my neck. I have been losing weight easier for some reason. I think I am one of those people sensitive to caffeine, and there is a connection there!
