Last weekend, Superbowl Sunday, I had beer (lottsa), chix wings in butter and tabasco, and raw oysters with horseradish, cocktail sauce & lemon.
I also had plenty of beef & fat.

For 6 days, my weight stayed 10 lbs heavier, & i ate protein, fat and water all week.
When I saw that my weight didn't fluctuate and I kept that extra 10 lbs, I went and got ice cream.

So a meal fuck up punishes me for a week.

Lynne,
You'll recover.  The important thing is to not stress about one F-U!  Look at the bigger picture...it's only ONE day in the many days left in your lifetime. Yup

Are you sure it wasn't the alcohol that made you gain the weight?  It always makes me gain, and stalls me for at least a week.

Either way, you'll drop it soon..keep up the good work.

I can almost guarantee it was the beer.  If I drink even allegedly very-low-carb liquor I retain water like the Hoover Dam.

Beer contains maltose.  Maltose is the highest glycemic type of sugar that there is.  It is probably the worst thing you can put into your body if you are trying to control insulin.  This is why we see otherwise skinny guys with a big beer-belly.

It's the beer. Despite what others say I don't think seasonings will derail people. Beer will. There is a challenge now over at ALCF where a few peeps have cut out the alcohol and are losing nicely.

Fast Foods contain lots of Sodium, which creates water weight gains, also!!! LOL

That's very true, of course.  But water weight usually goes away in a few days.

It can still be depressing for someone trying to lose weight who steps on the scale in the AM and finds a 5-8lb. increase!!!  It can take as many as 5 days to return to their pre-Sodium intake weight...Bummer!!!! Sad

Oh, no doubt about it.  That's why I'm not a big fan of weighing very often.  Those fluctuations can drive a person crazy and they are meaningless as far as fat loss or fat gain is concerned.

Lynne, We have had conversations about this before..as you well know.  Alcohol is poison to my body but I still drink it once a month..I have not learned..but at least I only do it once a month.

You are only human.. Big Hug

What a coincidence, I watched that Youtube video just yesterday!  Wine

Lynne, you might consider elimating wine until you have lost all the weight you want, then you can re-introduce it.   Of course, I'm sure you never thought of that.   LOL

The only low-carb foods that I gain a little weight with are cheese and nuts.

Then again, I tend to eat a pound of cheese in a day when I eat cheese.LOL

Wine is not a problem for me.

I am pretty active though.....weights two days per week, hiking at least once per week.

ZC has pretty much knocked the alcohol out of my regimen...
Fish taco's are no longer a must have....

now if i can just knock out the sugar.
i still have a problem binging on sugar.
ice cream is at the top of the list.

Lynne:
Ice cream is one of the friendlier cheats in that you can always make it yourself using real heavy cream and some stevia. Depending on what flavour you like you can add coconut, pistashio, walnut, pecan, real strawberry or whatever to it. It's a thought  Yup especially if  you just must have some. But again, maybe it would be too easy to indulge in that way. Confused

Even Bear made his own ice cream.  It certainly is possible to make your own and make it ZC, or at least VLC.

I understand completely.  Ice cream was one of my favorite binge foods.

Lynne, your new photos are awesome.

Ain't it great how changing the way you eat makes you feel and LOOK so young?

Yup

Miriam,  I never thought my body would release so much water.  I didn't know I had that much water.
Thanks for the compliments.
I was telling my son today that I hadn't realized I looked so different until I took those photo's.

I'm still in the same clothes I've been wearing for the last 9 months.
