OK, I'm still getting the nosebleeds, probably because I'm still addicted to those damn root beer floats. So I need to get off of dairy and stuff for awhile. I've already had cream and cheese today, so starting tomorrow I'm going to do a meat fast for one week.
Allowed:
meat
eggs
spices
mustard (which is basically spice w/vinegar)
tallow
Not Allowed:
anything else
including (gasp) coffee and cream (NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!)
Starting weight: 205.5 lbs
Edit: If I you don't hear from me in a week, you'll know it's because I went comatose from lack of coffee & cream.

You could try drinking coffee black until you've kicked dairy. _________________ Red |

This is so true.
Mana, I used to think dairy was the culprit for a lot of things. Now it gives me no issues at all, and I just keep getting more free from any symptoms. You know what the ticket is? IF. Pure and simple. When we give our bodies time to heal, they will. I believe that. I really think IF heals your body. _________________ When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.

Mana, I agree. But I also like chocolate cake and don't eat that either, so... But seriously - you could learn to love black coffee. I adore it. And that way, you can IF, as Dean suggests, without consuming anything caloric during your fast. Or, you can try chamomile tea, which is a nice change. _________________ Red |

I agree, I gave up dairy I while back and could not stand black coffee. I wanted coffee so bad I started drinking just 1/2 cup very small bit of black coffee. Now I love it black and the taste of cream in coffee seems off to me. I did very gradually switch and love it black now. Strange how these things change. _________________

I also am doing a similar challenge myself. It gets way easier as time flies by.
Right now I'm struggling with eating way too much, by volume. I'm "challenging" myself to eat smaller quantities of only meat and eggs. _________________

Wow it's busy in here!
I know I probably could drink the coffee without the cream. It's more the texture than than taste. I'll probably switch over to some chai tea. Lipton makes a good one.
I did good today. My daughter decided that she wanted me to eat breakfast with her, so I made a little hash of some leftover brisket and eggs with a bit of shredded cheese over the top. Lunch I had made some turkey sausage & egg muffiny things, which were pretty tasty. And supper was about 6oz of hamburger with some spices.

Fat today is lower than I'd like, but without dairy fat, there's not much I can do with the lean cuts of meat that I have stocked up in the freezer that need using up.
Today wasn't so bad without the coffee, I had some chai tea during the day. I've had a headache all day, which feels sinusy, but so far my nose hasn't bled today, which is nice. _________________ Manaloa |

Can you try it with a little stevia? I can't hack black coffee, but with a touch of stevia it's much better. _________________ Make yourself happy, don't rely on anyone else to do it. Be your own best friend. |

Jessica, I probably could add a little stevia, but sweetness isn't really my problem with coffee. I know this'll sound weird, but coffee is very harsh in my mouth and the cream helps "soften" it. Yes, I know that's sounds odd.
Jeff, usually the only time I can get above 65% fat without dairy is when I either eat a higher ratio of eggs to meat or if I get my brisket out. The brisket that I buy has about an inch rim of fat on it that cooks up wonderfully. mmmmmm soooo good. But DH refuses to eat the same thing everyday.

Hey, I think you did good!!!
Maybe your body is easing into eating 1 meal a day?
I don't think there is harm in eating 1 large meal a day of meat.
I've done it myself.
I've not heard of or seen boneless wings? My stores only have the ones with bone in them.
You're doing so well, much better than me. I've been struggling with cravings all week. Ugh! But i'm getting better, in regards to cutting down my carbs. Eating some eggs & bacon right now.
Keep up the great work!
Also, in regards to coffee, I have the same issue. It's a texture thing. _________________ Make yourself happy, don't rely on anyone else to do it. Be your own best friend. |

I hate it when I gain 1.5 lbs overnight.
Darn boneless wings and Caribbean jerk sauce.
I'm going to have to postpone this challenge until Monday. I forgot that tonight we have to smash the gingerbread house that we made, so we can eat it. And then we're having dinner with the 'rents on Sunday. I'll be able to start fresh on Monday without anything additional coming up. _________________ Manaloa |

My DH is ....... not entirely on board with my WOE especially around the holidays/b-days. So if he'll be happy if I eat a couple bites of gingerbread, then it's not going to kill me. _________________ Manaloa |

OK, so I'm back on the wagon today.
AM Weight: 206lbs (which I'm sure is just from the junk yesterday)
I didn't have anything this morning, just water. Lunch was just 3 beef sticks. Supper is going to be some roast with extra fatty bits. My cals will probably be a little low since I didn't have breakfast. My sinuses are bothering me pretty bad today which could just be from yesterday. _________________ Manaloa |

The caribbean jerk sauce I recently bought says it has 0 carbs although I did note on the label that it has cane sugar in it.

yeah, I know the sauce from Buffalo Wild Wings has some carbs in it. It was mostly the breading on the boneless wings that did me in. _________________ Manaloa |

That's one thing I like about Hooters, you can order the wings "naked" (no breading.)

Someone told me that Buffalo Wild Wings didn't have breading? Or did you get your boneless wings from somewhere else? I'd love to be able to find a wing place that doesn't bread them. _________________ Make yourself happy, don't rely on anyone else to do it. Be your own best friend. |

Buffalo wild wings doesn't bread they're bone-in wings, their boneless wings have bread, although they do have naked boneless wings. Unfortunately, my sense of economy got to me as they were having their cheap boneless wing day.
Wow, I feel kind of bad about giving up my challenge, but I don't really think it's going to happen. Yesterday I ate pizza and cookies!!!! But I lost a lb. But I also didn't eat supper last night either.
Wednesday AM Weight: 205 lbs
I also took a kelp pill last night too. Because I read that whole iodine thread on the other forum. Oh, well, maybe my goal will be to try to be as good as possible until after the holidays. _________________ Manaloa |

I hate coffe without cream as well - coconut cream does the trick as far as texture/mouthfeel goes, and it's a really nice mellow taste. Not coconutty at all, really. Makes a great latte too. _________________ www.fearandloathinginthekitchen.com |

IF is intermittant fasting. This means eating only once per day......or eating multiple times, but during a relatively small window....say 4 hours.....so your body goes for an extended period without eating. On zero carb, or very low carb, it is easier to do than you might think. _________________ Eat, Drink and Be Merry, For Tomorrow We'll Die |

I got into IF accidentally. I was so busy working, didn't have time to eat but once in a 24 hour period, and kind of got used to that routine. I do drink coffee and green tea in between eating, however.
