Accountability

I don't think it really matters what eating plan/way of eating we choose to follow. There's so many, and from reading various people's journals, the key for reliable results seems to be to pick one and then follow it religiously.

Another key aspect I see in those who are relatively successful is to be accountable - hence, our journals, exercise logs, and food reporting. Whether you do it on here or some other forum/venue (or in a plain old notebook!), it helps to know that you WILL be honest with yourself somehow, somewhere about what you put in your mouth and how much you move your body.

It's been a bit agonizing for me to record my menus the last several weeks, because I know I was overdoing it. But I kept doing it - because I knew making myself do it would eventually turn me around. Today, I turned back around. Gosh, it feels good to be 'back' on my strict plan.

Thoughts, gang?

Accountability is a wonderful thing. If I had not been at a certain forum posting my exercise and what was eaten for the day, I would have never been where I am now. It's been almost a year and look how far I've gone....

And look at the wonderful friendships! Heart

Yep, it does help to post, most of the time. Of course I also keep a handwritten journal, which I've done for years. But it does help to have online support.

I don't like being accountable, I hate it, I hide when I'm cheating, I can't look at myself in the eye in the mirror and I hate myself. However, I don't blame anyone else or anything else for my transgressions so maybe in an indirect way I do suffer from accountability. Drats.

and BTW I love this Carb Bingers Anonymous section because it's here when I want to throw a tantrum or just bitch in general.
