BBQ Beef Spare RibsBBQ Beef Spare Ribs
I get beef spare ribs that are about 8 x 10 inch slabs, about 4 bones in them... lots of fat, but plenty of meat too... two to a package. I put these into glass pans (about 9 x 14) meat/fat side up. I then put them into a 350 degree oven. I usually do 2 pans at a time, centered in the oven.
After about 30 minutes I take them out of the oven, and put bbq sauce on them. Turn the heat down to 200. You can cut the bbq sauce with butter. Melt some butter in a saucepan on the stove, and add the bbq sauce. Just remember, the calories will be out in orbit! I use Cattlemen's Classic bbq sauce... it's my favorite bbq sauce. Pretty carby stuff, but I don't care. There is so much fat and good beef on these ribs! mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
Anyway... pour on the bbq sauce and baste with a basting brush. Once they are lathered with sauce, cover these pans of ribs with aluminum foil (shiny side facing in). Make sure they are sealed well, and place them back in the oven. Cook them for like 2 hours on 200. Keep them covered the whole time. You can just slide out the clean bones and toss them, and eat the meat and fat right off the plate with a fork and sharp knife. They are so frickin' tender this way!

I bought 3 packages of beef ribs today. I'm going to try this tomorrow for Sunday Dinner. We have a family of five, so...I'm not going to have too many left-overs. My house will really smell good tomorrow!
Thanks, Dean.

Bobi,
What kind is that? I've never seen it.
I am going to mix butter with the Cattlemen's Classic, and there will only be about 6g of carbs on each 10oz slab of meat/fat. That is all I can eat in a day, since the calories are SO HIGH! Almost 1500 calories! If you think you can eat like 5 of these and not gain weight... try it. I dare ya.

Actually it's the low calorie version of the original KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce. I'll let you know how it tastes later on today.

ABSOLUTELY YUMMY RIBS, DEAN!!!
I cooked three pans and there are four ribs left! The family devoured them, I ate four myself.
Thanks so much for the recipe.
