Berry SmoothiesThese smoothies are a nice way to get good things like raw eggs, coconut milk, coconut oil, cinnamon, etc. into your daily diet. They are very yummy as well!
These are 85-90% FAT!... and they're dairy free!
Berry Smoothies
6 raw eggs
1 can coconut milk
3 tbsp coconut oil
2 cups frozen berries
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp almond extract
This should fill a 5-cup blender
Makes about 3 pint size mason jars
Blend well!
They're very filling and deeeeeelish!
Some berries that are good to add:
strawberries
red raspberries
blackberries
blueberries
mixed berries

Dean:
I need clarification on the raw eggs. This means whites as well as yolks? I hate whites

Hey, Kat!
How ya doing?!
Use whichever. If you use just the egg yolks, it will be more like custard. Set it in your fridge for a day, and, it will get firm. Then, when you eat it, it will be like ice cream. Very rich and smooth, creamy and dreamy!
I'm not sure if Jessica still makes this. I don't. Maybe she can give you some other pointers.
Hope all is going well with you. Take care, and don't be such a stranger. We miss ya around here!

Think I'll use raw egg yolks, just a wee bit of fruit for taste only (got to keep those carbs low) and a touch of whey protein powder (unsweetened and unflavoured). That should work for me.
Of course, buying a blender will help I'll do that this weekend.

Yah, a blender sure helps.
If you don't use any fruit, it tastes like vanilla ice cream. If you use really good CO, like Jungle Products, it's heavenly.
I no longer eat this stuff, but, when I did, it sure was a nice treat. Now a bit of wine will do just fine.

Hi Dean - Now that I've just made a batch of this and it is in the fridge I see you don't eat it anymore. How come? The few tastes I had were YUMMY - maybe that's why???
We'll see if I can stop eating it! That may answer my question.

Kacey,
Those were nice treats, but, I decided to go more carnivorous and ditch as much non-animal foods as possible. These things were also quite calorically dense, and, I'm not so sure how nutrient dense they actually were.
I'm now going through a similar deal with dairy. I seem to always be, so that's no major surprise. It drives the WI cheeseheads absolutely crazy, so there is an upside to it.
I am always trying to move toward the Kristelle way... which is meat and water. One of these days I'll get there.

MMM - well, it is yummy but I guess with the fat I can only eat so much of it (1/4 cup at a time). So, I'll probably save these for special occasions. I can't figure out the whole dairy thing myself. After reading your journal, I'm sitting here with my coffee to which I added some half-and-half. I don't ever take my coffee that way. But since it helped you skip donuts I thought - what the hell!
As for cheese - it is a flavor and variation enhancer for sure but I can nearly live without it. (nearly!)
So, I'm still tweaking trying to figure out what can stay and what has to go! Looks like we all have to do that to some degree.
I have found, for me, that when I have cravings - if I eat more fat, they go away. I may end up eating too much fat and feeling nauseous BUT I usually don't give in. Looks like for you the coffee helped you with the IFing. So I'm trying that now!
If all else fails -I'll drink the rest of the smoothies in the fridge!
Thanks
Kacey
