BLOOD PRESSUREI have decided to try and get off my blood pressure meds earlier than I originally planned. I have been on 20 mg of Lisinapril for almost 2 years. High BP runs in my family. Mine used to be through the roof..like 200/120.
I have been off it for 3 days and my readings have been on average 127/78, with a high of 134/80. I am ok with these so far, but if it gets higher I will go back on it until i lose more weight.
I think that through my eating and exercising, I may just have this beat. Oh..and I just got off Metformin sucessfully.
If anyone has any insightful info about high blood pressure, please chime in and let me know.

Do you have a blood pressure cuff at home? And how high was yours before you started taking the Lisinapril?
And thanks for the well wishes.

If we give our bodies what they want and need, they will be happy campers!

One week no blood pressure medication results:
I took 2 readings a day.
3-28 128/79,133//81
3-29 127/78,131/86
3-30 122/80,127/76 (this reading was 15 min after a 20 mile moderately fast paced bike ride)
3-31 127/81,123/79
4-1 136/78,136/78
4-2 129/87,123/78
4-3 121/81,124/87
These seem all within range but I will continue to monitor for one more week.

Wow y0u, how fantastic!
I don't remember what my pressure was when I got prescribed the meds - I just know it was 'borderline'. I do have a cuff at home but I never think to use it.
I may attempt this myself after losing some more weight.

I thought I would have to wait and lose more weight..but nope..Maybe y0u are ok if y0u were only borderline? Get out that cuff...
