Can exercising end up hurting your weight/fat loss efforts? As counterintuitive as it may seem, can exercising end up hurting your weight/fat loss efforts? I'm thinking that it is mine!
When I workout, I am 6Xs more hungry. I'm human.....I do end up eating more, even when I try not to.
Has anyone here refrained from exercising *until* you got to/near goal?

I would say that working out, especially intense exercise can increase hunger. This may be even worse if you are just starting into a new WOE, and have not had time for your body to adapt.
If working out makes you more hungry, then I would recommend starting out with a lighter workout and see if it still happens.

That is exactly what Taubes said in Good Calories, Bad Calories. I think it would be more true for carb eaters, though. But like Heather said, it may also be true for a person who has not fully adapted to this way of eating. I work out often and intensely, and I do not experience increased hunger........of course, some here think I'm not human.

It was certainly true for me when I was a sugar junkie.
I have not yet got back to my old exercise levels. It will be interesting to see if I actually LOSE this time.
