Greetings!Hello, all.
Went looking for a pemmican recipe a few weeks and several hundred (thousand?) posts ago, found Bear Stanley et al, and here I am.
Couple of years ago, I went Atkins, did freeweights, and dropped from 305 to 245lb in about 6 months. Life intruded, found myself eating out quite often - though as carb-free as I thought possible - and had to give up the gym. Still gained back 20lb, then stabilized for another 6 months. Finally grew weary of picking through my food and went back to my old woe and have put on another 20+lb in the last year or so.
I went carnivorous last night, so this is my first day (back?) on the bus. I'm leaving a two liter per day addiction to MtDew behind, plus candy, plus extra-large/double portions at nearly every meal.
I don't expect this to be easy, but hard is much preferrable to dead...

Peter, thanks for sharing and welcome aboard the bus. You will find this place to be very supportive (and fun). You may see Bear Stanley referred to every once in a while here......many of us are here because of him. I know I am.
No, it won't be easy. And most likely you will stumble along the way.....we all have. When that happens, just pick yourself up and start again. With time, it does get easier.....and you will learn a lot about yourself. Again....welcome, and enjoy the ride.

Hello, Peter!
So glad you could join us!
Yes... this is a VERY supportive place to be. If it helps, you should start a Journal. I know it helped me out. Also, you can get involved in some of the Challenges we've got going... or even start one of your own.
One thing that carnivore eating will do for you is cut back your appetite like crazy! It is high carbs, and the accompanying blood sugar roller coaster, that causes all the hunger. When you normalize your blood sugar, and consume adequate fat for satiation, you will be on your way. It's getting to that point, that is often times the major struggle.
Good luck, and lean on us for support all you need to!
Welcome aboard the Bus!

Jeff,
Stumbling is good evidence one is actually standing and making progress. Them as always sit on their duffs never stumble...
Dean,
Appetite is already shrinking. When I thought of MtDew today, it didn't come with the "need" to drink it. So I didn't. MUCH better than I had hoped for two days along.
Heather,
I've looked at other possible birthdays, before, and concluded ours really is the best day. Genuine prescience on our parts, eh?

Absolutely!
Be on guard for the third day cravings, they're killer.

Ignorance must be bliss. Day three left me alone... That said, tomorrow will be a pain.
