Thanks for the well wishes folks.
I've been absent from the forum a bit due to some family problems. Strayed from the WOE a bit and gained 4lbs in a week. Decided that wasn't helping anything and got back on the meat wagon.
Family things have calmed down for the most part; meat, water, & decaf iced tea are the main menu items; and I'm happy to report that I'm down a total of 30 lbs since Feb 1st.
I"ll try not to be such a stranger.

Yep, 250 on Feb 1st to 220.0 today. I actually made it down to 219.0 nine days ago which dropped me into the merely 'overweight' part of the BMI chart. Back to 220 the next day, up to 222 on my birthday (party on Sun the 26th. Mini-party at work Mon the 27th Cake & Beer have carbs, eh? ), and now back to 220 today. So here I sit on the fence between 'obese' and 'overweight'. Yeah, it's just something someone made up. But still ...
Not that I'm complaining, at all, about the WOE. Cake & Beer aren't part of the WOE. Mea Culpa. Onward & forward (& downward) we go! Had a nice chuck roast for dinner last night. Back to walking-the-walk.

Awesome news! Keep moving forward. I remember someone wise saying, "Baby steps toward a goal are better than running hell bent in the wrong direction."

I'm definitely going to keep moving forward, folks. Don't worry about that. May have a bump in the road now & again, though.
When I first decided to do something about the extra weight it was (sadly) more along the lines of vanity than health. Googled to see what was new with Atkins. Found a LC forum. Saw mentions of ZC. Found a couple of ZC forums. Started ZC in February still with the vanity motivation in mind. Ate the food, lost the weight, wasn't hungry.
More importantly I read a hell of a lot on various fora. Saw the real world results from multiple people online who weren't selling anything. Bought and read "Natural Health & Weight Loss" & "Trick & Treat" by Barry Groves along with GCBC by Gary Taubes (still working my way through that one ). The motivation switched from total vanity towards actually being REALLY healthy. (I admit, there's still a bit of vanity working here )
Nope, folks, I'm in this for the long haul. I don't have any major medical problem and I don't want any. Seem to have mostly gotten past the 'I can't have ___ ever again?!?!' and more toward 'I don't need ___ ever again'.
And now, there's a steak here that needs my attention ...
