Hey!My journey here started with calorie counting. I lost about 30lbs fairly easily. I did miss butter and fatty cuts of meat but it was livable. Then I started getting really weak. I had to nap throughout the day. I was miserable so I stopped and went back to eating how I always did (just whatever I fancied at the moment). I felt a lot better and I didn’t gain back any of the weight. Tried counting calories again about 8 months later and the same thing happened. I had absolutely no energy. I was keeping my calories around 1600 and was averaging 50% carbs 30% protein and 20% fat. I have no idea why I felt so terrible all the time. I was eating how we’re told we’re supposed to eat.
So I said screw it. I’m meant to be 190lbs. I still visit the calorie counting forum I had joined (lots of funny broads) and came across a post about Good Calories, Bad Calories. Then someone posted a link to Dean’s MAM experiment. Holy crap! So I started researching no carb diets. Found a few forums, read through people’s experiences, read all the articles I could find, read the epic Bear thread (he’s quite a character eh?), and finally decided that zero carb, or damn near zero carb, is worth a shot.
So here I am. *Waves* I chose this forum above the other zc forums cuz yous guys are the coolest zc kids around.
Nice to “meat” you all. Ha ha, I’m punny.
