Hi from new passengerHi there all!
I'm Richard and I am trying to be a carnivore. This is just a short note to introduce myself. I've been looking at the Active No-Carber forums for a number of months now and have found this great site via those hallowed pages.
I tried last year and a few months this year also to eat only meat and eggs but gave up when I felt it wasn't working for me: fatigue, lethargy and dehydration. After re-reading all of Bear's writings I feel this failure to thrive was due to two crucial points: over-cooking the meat and not giving myself enough time to keto-adapt. I was in "Atkins mode", ie thinking I could expect massive changes in only a few days.
I'm nowhere near zero carb as of yet. I still have a few old habits to let go of but will be working up to my goal in due course.
See you!

Welcome, Richard. Some people seem to do just fine with cooking their meat. Others find more raw helps. It seems to be an individual thing. You are definitely right about giving it plenty of time for adaptation.
Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Richard!
Hang in there, and you will figure it out. There's no other way than to experiment and get ideas from others that are trying this WOE.
One thing many have found helpful is to make sure they get the appropriate amount of animal fat in their diet.
Looking forward to learning from your experiences.

Hi there,
Thanks for the warm welcome.
I'm looking forward to delving deeper into this world of tasty animal foods and weaning myself off the plant foods for good.
See you around!
Regards,
Richard
