How often do you need veggies to keep the enzyme?I know that you can get pretty sick from eating veggies after being carnivorous for a while (as y0u unfortunately proved for us). I just wonder how often you'd have to eat them to be able to keep them down. I don't really miss veggies at all but I would like to have a nice salad once in a while - maybe once a month if it's possible. It would be nice to have that available socially as well.
Any personal experience in this area?

I can't answer that from any scientific view, just personal experience.
If I want a salad, I'll eat one consisting of onions, tomatoes, cukes and red bell peppers. I hate lettuce so will not eat it, it gives me the runs anyways. I'm somewhat negatively affected by the veggies I do eat in my type of salad in that I feel sluggish and tend to retain water.
Just my experience over the years. I tend not to eat any of even "my" salad unless I'm very hungry and it's already made.

Someone told me (and I think it was Dean) that it's not the enzymes but bacteria in your gut that is the problem...it's in my journal somewhere..
After my initial few trials with veggies I was ok...but it also depends on the veggies and the person I think. I do much better with fermented veggies like sauerkraut or pickled beans. I ate veggies after having none for over 2 months and got pretty sick. I would highly suggest that you eat a very very small amount for a few days up to a week, and you will probably be fine, after that if you have some every few weeks or once a week I think you will be ok...but again..depends on the person and the vegetable.
I currently eat a few tablespoons of homemade sauerkraut once a week or so..and last week ate broccoli 3 days in a row and was just fine...except a bit gassey.
Best of luck.
