I'm house broken and good with children: Steve's Journal

Well I've decided to join the gang and get with this.

I saw a guy I knew from years past who I got into lifting. He asked to workout with me and I agreed. Well long story short he never quit and I couldn't believe the transfomation..and I bet he couldn't believe my transformation as well. Very depressing.

I will try and keep faithful to this. My goal is to be all muscle and bone. I am no longer concerned with great size..just want to look athletic and have some of the ol muscle back..plus I have a 15 onth old boy and I want to be athletic for him as he gets older.

I will try and go very low carb, getting most of my calories from meat ,eggs, butter and cream with the occasional salad of steamed veggie thrown in for good measure. I may have a carb only meal every 3 days to replace glycogen or take 5 grams of glutamine 3x's a day.

I will partake in my wifes "Shit, nut logs" when I have a sweettooth.
They consist of Carob powder, soaked pecans or walnuts, almond butter, almond meal and then rolled in shredded coconut. They are frozen
then ready to eat. They literally look like shit with nuts in them.

Yummy I know..

I will workout 3 x's a week with weights..doing EDT. If I do cardio it will be high intensity, like farmers walks, car pushing, running bleachers, dumbell snatches combined with jump roping. I will do this on non-weightlifting days.

though I have lost 23 lbs over the last 6 weeks with diet alone,I would like to change my body composition. I want to remain at my current weight ,but with a lot more muscle.

I am 6'1 206.

I will take Circuprime,a mulit, fish and cod liver oil, extra C and maybe some Tribulus to help with Lh

Of course Labor day is hot dog day and we're having people over so Tuesday is the day..

thanks everybody for the inspiration to get going on this again...
Alisa

I'm the first one to write in your jounal! Yup

I'm glad you're getting back on track. It's very hard. I know this from experience. But it's really worth it. 23 lbs. pounds is an awesome start. You should be proud!

Have an awesome Labor Day! Sunny
Steve

that part was pretty easy..I just cleaned up the junk and being insulin resistant, my body responded accordingly.

Thanks Alisa, glad to see you are the first my dear. Blush
You have a good one as well. Happy
Shawn

Hi Steve,

Thank you for the welcome. I enjoy reading your posts.

Hope your Labor Day is relaxing.

Sunny
Suzanne

Ok, Steve. We can do this. Time to get started. Eat those dogs without buns. LOL
Heather

House broken and good with children, why do all the good ones have to be married?!?!
Jessica

Steve, just stopping by to say hi and I hope you had a great weekend!

Hugs, Jessica
Steve

thanks Jessica..I just had hot dogs, chip and dip, potoato salad, baked beans and Ben and Jerrys Chunky Monkey.

Good way to start the ol journal off.

I'm pretty bummed about Steve Irwin dying..I thought he became a little over the top,but his early stuff was great and very educational..tragic and just a freak accident. He is only a year older than me..

I will be geting more and more into the elections coming up.I hate the direction the country is heading and every race is important. I have my eye on all of them.

sorry,I hate to bring up politics but it is now a big part of who I am.

So hopefully I will get going tomorrow on a good path to where I think I need to be.

thanks everybody for chiming in
Heather

Thank you for the support, I sure need and appreciate it.

I know. Wow Just kidding. I am house broken. Well, most of the time. Wow
kateryna

Welcome to journalland Steve. I too enjoy your posts. Good to have you here. Wine
Steve

Gotta say, things are not so good.

I haven't really eaten much at all and what I have eaten is less than ideal.

I'm trying to refinance my house, keep my company afloat and tend to my health.

If I do not find some investors soon,I gotta get a job..

It's really perplexing and disturbing,I've been advising people on how to get themselves on track with diet and excercise, but I'm having a hell of a time getting on track myself.&*#!!!

Maybe it is too many blows to the head or all that Drano I snorted in my youth..
Jessica

Wow, sounds like you're going through a lot right now. Eating healthy is hard, let alone with all that other stuff going on. Be good to yourself, it will all work out.

Jessica
Steve

My diet is spotty at best. I had scrambled eggs for breakfast, was in a meeting this afternoonand had Garlic Chicken with a liitle rice and an egg roll.

For dinner a nasty ol Ribeye with shrooms and a very large salad.

I went to the cardiologist today and he wants to continue to test me on some things,so I'm going in for a stress test and a Nuclear Echo cardiogram..3 frickin hours.

I put off the heart specialist last because I don't want to hear any bad news about my heart. I've eliminated everything else..

I wish I had some peyote,,,

Steve, here's one for you. If you want to see a pythion who REALLY 'bit off more than it could chew' take a look. It's hilarious.

I know how you feel. On some other boards (that won't be mentioned), people keep coming to me asking for my advice because I'm so "knowledgeable" about things.

If I were so knowledgeable about what works, why the heck would I be in the predicament I'm in?!?!?!?!?!

It is so very hard to get "back on the bus," as it were. When I first did LC eating, it was so easy. I just blocked everything else out of my mind and did it. Simple. No cravings. Nothing. Now I can't seem to go 2 days without caving to something -- never anything much, just a couple cookies or something. Still, that never happened before.

We're all in this together. Yup
BawdyWench

Think you can stand yet another question from me on supps? If so, why don't you jump over to my journal so I don't hijack yours?

See ya!
Steve

Analog 6 thanks for the link..it is all over the place here in Az. Did you notice the rope around that poor Reitics neck??

I saw my first ever Gila Monster last night!! What an experience!!!

I was out in a pretty treacherous mountain range and just about 'slipped" off the side of the mountain with my Exterra..If my wife only knew.

gotta be honest with you all,My diet has been ok,but with all that is going on,I haven't excercised much. My weight is stable at 206 but then again,I'm not as hard as I used to/should be.

I just want to say to all of you, congrats on all your achievements...
Steve

Hello ya'll

Tomorrow morning is the big day. I'm going in to have the old ticker checked out ..it's going to take 4 friggin hours. I'm apprehensive to say the least.

they are going to shoot some dye in my veins for a Nuclear EKG, that sounds just lovely. I wonder how many carbs it contains??

I'm a liitle blue today, alittle pissed off today and can't believe that I let myself get to this place. I'm in the health food/supplement industry for christ sakes..

I hope it goes ok.

I know..WAAAHH!!! Cry
BawdyWench

There, there. You'll be fine. No use kicking yourself over what you can't change. You CAN change the future, and you've already begun.

Good luck tomorrow!
Suzanne

Big Hug
Karen

hi Steve!! Take it one day at a time! Changing lifelong habits is a hard thing, but you can do it!! Congrats on the weight loss! how did you lose 23 lbs in 6 weeks??

please give me the exact shit log recipe..it sounds yummy! Yup
Alisa

I hope everything goes okay for you! Big Hug
Heather

Keep us updated, will be here for you. Heart
Steve

thanks everybody..It took 4 hours! and I had this beautiful nurse inform me that she would have to shave my chest hairs!!!!! Ay" caramba

she did cut me in 3 places though..

Now we wait..After seein all thes peole in the waiting room with chronic heart conditions, this is a huge wake up call.

Karen, finding out that I was insulin sensitive,I just cut out the crap and carbs and my body responded accordingly..and that is with no excercise

My wife has lost 20 as well

this is no exact recipe, you'll have to tinker around with it. I just started throwing some stuff in a bowl and they came out quite good.

Carob powder,
almond butter
soaked walnuts or pecans
Almond Meal...trader joes
Carob chips(at times)

You can use Chia as well. I know Mercola is big on Chia.. or how about sesame seeds?

All mixed together and rolled in shredded coconut. We then freeze them and just eat them straight from the freezer.

I hope and pray that I have some good new to report back to my fellow Magic bus crew!
Karen

I hope the test results turn out ok for you. let us know!!

thanks for the recipe..i will try it!
BawdyWench

Steve wrote:

Tell me it ain't so! Not the chest hairs!!! Cry

I hope your tests turn out better than mine did (details in my journal).

I'm going to be leaving for the airport by 9:00 this morning (yes, I've been up since 1:00 -- can't sleep), but I'd love to "talk" with you about some supplements you've mentioned. I'll PM you about it. I won't have access to a computer again until Sunday evening, so don't be surprised if it seems like I've fallen off the face of the earth.

See ya!
BawdyWench

Did you get those test results back yet?
Steve

No,they said it could be 5 days before the cardiologist got them back. I have and appointment with him Friday.

I saw a great epiode on the health channel about missed diagnosis and I thought of Miss bawdy.

this very active ,thin woman(a size 2) suddenly started to put on weight.

she was excercising and eating well. Her docs found nothing wrong with her and were putting her on anit-depressants and water pills. They would make remarks that perhaps she was eating more than she stated.

She coninued to pile on the pounds. She then developed that hump on the back of her neck and her hair started to fall out in clumps. Her face and neck developed this red rash that was so bad she was embarrased to get out of the house. She got that round "moon face". She had wicked, wicked diarrhea.
She knew something was very wrong with her ,but no one could help her or believe her story.

So after seeing many doctors, she decided that if things were so hopeless, she was determined not to die obese. So she threw herself into research going over her blood work over and over again.

Finally she see found a common component to her blood work..

HIGH CORTISOL. way over 192!!

She immediatley called the UCLA medical college and set up an appoinment with an endocronologist. He walked into the room and asked "how long have you known that you have Cushings disease?"

She immediately felt redemption..they did a mri on her and found a tumor on her pituatary.
Her recovery was instantaneous. In her short stay at the hospital she lost 4lbs and her blood cortisol levels plummeted.

She got back her energy ,hair and her life.

The problem is is that 1 out of every million person will get this disease,so some docotrs will never see this in their practice so they don't look for the symptoms.
BawdyWench

Yikes! At least I'm not THAT bad!

I went to the health food store today and they were still out of guggulipids, so the lady and I spoke at length. I ended up going home with Vitamin C with bioflavinoids (instructions to take 1000 mg once a day, and if I exercise that day, I'm supposed to take it right after) and coffeeberry.

According to the lady, both are supposed to help with insulin, cortisol, and metabolic syndrome. I'm sure you know more about this than I do!

I'm seeing the NP on October 12, so I'll talk about it with her then.
Shawn

Thank you for your kind words and support. Sunny
Steve

Well hell,I got called in early for my appointment to the cardiologist..

anybody got any extra heart laying around..must be blood type b.
BawdyWench

Why do you think it's bad news? Let us know how it turns out.
BawdyWench

Any news?
Suzanne

Well? What did the cardiologist say?
BawdyWench

Are we going to have to come over there to get some answers?

Come on, Suzanne. We're on a mission! Whip
Suzanne

Apparently we are. Or maybe it's none of our business and he's too polite to say. Ya think? Nawww
Steve

My cardiologist is perplexed....He says my heart is fine, yet I show symptoms of Congestive Heart failure!!

so that is a total of about 6 specialists and they all are shaking their head.

so thank you for the concern,I'm at that point where I am just going to say "fuck it" and move on...

I'm thinking about doing a 3 week peyote cleanse. I loved peyote in my youth...

build a big bon fire, get some buffalo meat and pray to the rain god..
BawdyWench

What symptoms of congestive heart failure do you have? My mother lived with us for the last 3 years of her life, and probably a half dozen times I drove her to the hospital emergency room and told them she was going into congestive heart failure. Each time they told me I was nuts, each time I told them to just check her out, and each time they found out I was right.

She would start retaining water, her breathing would get a little labored, and I know there were other signs I picked up on, too, but can't remember now.

What are your symptoms like?
Suzanne

Peyote cleanse??? I've always wanted to try it. I'm heading to snowdog's house! That sounds like fun!
Steve

My mom died from it...

Same as your mom,my feet and my hands are swelling and they hurt like a son of a gun..it used to be just in the morning, but now it's pretty constant.

My breathing gets real labored as well and I have Apnea and I use a Cpap
machine..and my oxygen is still bad to the periphery of my body.

I use diaphoretics like Galangal and Yarrow and it helps alot. I think if I were not using these herbs I'd be in big trouble..
Steve

Suzanne,
You would love Peyote..once you threw it up, you would not belive the visions..

That's what I heard of course eh hmmm..No personal experience Wink
Suzanne

LOL The only thing that would keep me from trying it is the fact that you throw up. I HATE to puke. I will do most anything to keep from it. YUCK! Guess I'll have to avoid the visions. Dang.
BawdyWench

I'm with you, Suzanne. I'd rather be beat up than throw up. Guess I could never be bulemic!
Dean

Ditto on the throw up. I have always been this way... hated to throw up. I don't think I have thrown up for decades!
Steve

Not talking form personal experience of course, Peyote does not make everybody throw up..some of my friends...I mean...researchers find that it does cause nausea in a large part of those who partake in Peyote for scientific research..

All in the name of science of course..
Suzanne

LOL It amazes me how some people are so dedicated to scientific research! LOL
Steve

all in the name of science..

and the right price Wink
jeff

Steve, I'll be in your neighborhood in a couple of weeks....don't use up all the peyote before I get there!!!
kateryna

Steve, where are you? I miss your words of dietary wisdom. How are you doing?
Steve

Hi Kateryna,
I've been invloved in the upcoming midterm elections here in the states trying to do my part for change.

I've also been trying to keep my company going and looking for a decent job in the interim.

My diet has been ca ca. We can't seem to get on track these days with all the stress going on right now.

but we will be ok.

thanks for missing me. Much appreciated..
BawdyWench

I miss you, too!

I've been pretty busy myself. Lots of stress at work. Getting by, but not making much progress in any arena. Haven't even been online in at least a week.

I've now been off most supplements for a little over a month, and have taken NO supplements for about a week. Can't say I feel any different.

Hard to know what to do.

Anyway, yours was the first journal I lurked in. How does it feel to have a stalker? Wink
Steve

I know what you mean Bawdy!

Over the years I've really guinea pigged a bunch of things. Some things like ephedra or bitter orange you definitely 'feel". while something like COQ10..not so much, yet it is probrably a compound we all should take.

Not only is it involved in the process of cellular energy,it is also an excellent antioxidant for the heart. It is also found in great amounts in heart tissue.

Just today I had a woman call me and say how much Gingko has changed her life. I took so much of that sutff that it was coming out of my ears, but I never noticed a difference.

Some compounds are just good insurance and though you can't tell a difference in how you feel, they do produce good health benefits.

Bawdy and Kateryna, you can stalk me anytime Devil
BawdyWench

Steve wrote:

Love that! "Guinea pigged"!

I'm taking a breather from supplements. The only things I KNOW I want to continue are potassium (which helps with muscle cramps and restless legs), magnesium (which helps me stay regular when I'm eating more than 5 grams of carbs per day), and borage oil (which has made my nails stronger than ever).

I know there are other things that are good for me. and I'll "go there" again, just not now.

DH is on a business trip, so I just might be able to be online a little more. Gotta have a life somewhere, doncha think?
kateryna

Hey Bawdy great to see you are still hanging around here. Thought you'd left us.

Regarding supplements, I don't take a lot. Just a generic multi-vitamin/mineral for the over 50 crowd (in case I mssied something in food), krill oil, salmon oil and cod liver oil (because I don't eat enough fish) and that's it. I can't afford the Gingko and I certainly can't afford COQ10... Out of my price range even if I really needed it.

Steve sounds like you are super busy and stressed. I know the feeling. I'm good for 2 or 3 days then I fall off the wagon, eat crap, then I'm back on. Wish I had an answer for us all. Dunno

All we can do is keep trying and never give up.
BawdyWench

Yup. I'm still here. Just extremely busy.
kateryna

Hey Steve, how's everything going for you? You were under a bit of stress there a while back. We need an update Yup
Steve

Hey Kat,
things are pretty dismal. I have been an eyelash away from 2 very great jobs and it has been between me and one other and I lost out twice.

I'm still looking for some strategic partners for my company, but it is a slow and arduous process.

Things are just bad right now,and I'm tired of being me for the moment. I'm sure we all feel that way from time to time.

health sucks and diet sucks..no other way to put it for right now.
BawdyWench

There

Not sure what to say.
Steve

You've said plenty

Thank you Heart
Dean

Hey, Steve,

Can totally relate!

Hang in there, buddy! Cool
Steve

Hey thanks Dean..

Today was pretty good day. This is the best I have felt in a while.

They are now looking into some form of Narcolepsy..

I think they really don't know what they are doing..when some of these therapies doen't work, well it has to be this now. What a f#@!kin joke.

Plus Susanne and Heather have been making life a little.. Devil ..fun

good to see you back, hope the donuts didn't get the best of you!
Heather

Great to hear, it must be the thong therapy doing it's job! Devil
Steve

Heather if you ony knew the mental and physical stress I have to go through to try and collect DATA from you ,Susanne and now Miss Bawdy for this very demanding study. Thong therapy is very intense Bonkers

If I had all the data necessary for the completion of this study then I could be done with this and move on to more scientific stuides to help out mankind..then you would really see happy Devil Devil Heart Heart

come on ladies, help a guy out will ya?
Heather

273kh2ok9

I saw this and thought of you Steve, had to share! Yup
Steve

Oh god Heather,I don't have a clue to what that is..

gotta help a lame brain out.
Dean

Steve,
That's Heather's secret code... if you decipher it... well, I think the other males on the bus know what I'm talking about... Devil
Steve

hell Dean,
Ill never figure it out..

Well I have some amazing news. I just had a phone conference with a huge supplement/marketing firm. Long story short, they think I have one fo the finest products that they have seen..and they have been doing this since 1970 and have worked for TwinLab,Natrol and a host of other big companies.

they are willing to do research on the product and a study( NO THONG DATA THOUGH) just to see how effecacious it really is. I'm excited because I have my customers calling me almost daily on how much we have changed their lives after taking the product. Now science will vindicate it!!!!!

so if all goes well, they say they can find funding and help market this product for maximum sales..they know everybody in the industry,

so my dream just may come true to have a company that has porducts that can really help the general public and leave a little legacy for my boy.

But in the meantime we are screwed here at home. Cry
Heather

You will have to keep us posted on how that turns out, it sounds very interesting. I pray everything goes your way.

oh..I'm a little better. We had leftovers last night so I have a little residual carb poisoning going on. LOL

I took 3 hours to hang my lights outside, did the final plug in and they all don't work now.

After today, I'll get back on track.

Steve

IS THERE ANYBODY..OUT THERE?
Steve

LONELY, I'M MR. LONELY...
Susanne

Waddup, Steve? Talk to us....are you in carb-withdrawal depression????
Steve

Must be. I'm quoting Pink Floyd and Bobby Vinton..Nice combo.

How are you Susanne? have you told your man how you feel about thigs not looking so good for you guys?
Susanne

He's not 'mine' anymore. I told him this weekend that I didn't need the bullshit. He's pissed. I had a bad two days after that, but I'm cool now. Head screwed back on, eye on the goal, back in my regular 'man-less' routine.

Life is good. Don't know why I periodically think I need to date. Foolish. LOL
Steve

Oh you need to date..I really believe that. I t is better than listening to the juvenile rantings of a Snow dog..

From what I gather ,you are a great woman and have alot to offer. Just think of dating as community service for these guys who are fortunate enough to get to take you out LOL
Heather

The support here is great! I credit this group for alot of my success. Yup
Heather

And Steve, how is the coma coming along?
Steve

I have dropped the carbs, but I'm going through the withdrawal period again, headache, lethargy, mind fog and gerneral overall ugliness.

I know,"I didn't know you could get any uglier, Steve"..
Susanne

Hang in there...you'll feel better soon (but you knew that). Wink
Alisa

How have things been going for you? Big Hug
Steve

I have another phone conference with this huge company tomorrow with my staff doctor on as well. I hope to proceed further with my company next week, so everybody say a little prayer to whomever for us.

I'm also looking into purchasing a womens only fitness center..if I can get the funds..

This place has showers, lockers a yoga room and tanning beds.

And they want $45,000 for it!!!!!

I meet with the owners this weekend, I need to know why they are selling this place sooo cheap..
