Is Decaf Coffee just as dehydrating as regular coffee?I'm down to one small cup of regular coffee in the morning. Occasionally husband and I go out at night or after work, and i'll have a plain decaf coffee. It makes me just as dehydrated as regular, as far as I can tell? Is it something to do with the coffee beans???
Just wondering, as when I drink decaf coffee at work instead of water, i'm more apt to feel dry, dehydrated, and tend to get sinus infections more often.
Thanks for any help!

I really don't know, Jessica. I had always heard that it was the caffiene that was suppose to be dehydrating. Maybe not.
On a related note, I have gone back to drinking regular coffee. I switched to decaf to see if I would feel any differently.
I had a very slight headache for about a day and a half. After that I felt fine. I really did not miss the caffiene, which I thought I probably would. I really felt no different. There was one big difference, though. IMO, decaf sucks!!
So, I have gone back to regular simply because it tastes much better to me.

What brands of coffee do you drink? We use Folgers at home. When we go out, we go to Starbucks or Dunn Brothers. Dunn Brothers has the best, imho. Each sip is like an orgasm. My husband disagrees about Dunn Brothers, he says theirs is too bitter. Bah. Sometimes Starbucks tastes like water to me. :)
I guess I love dark roasts!

I'm not faithful to any one brand. Sometimes I'll buy whatever is on sale. Somtimes I feel like splurging a little and buying something more expensive. I have some Gevalia delivered to my house every 6 weeks. At work I drink Starbucks.
I tend to like the darker roasts too.

I love Starbucks new Pike Place Roast. Bought a five pound bag for 40 bucks. It gets my day off to a great start.
I think if i could replace my blood with it i would.
Oh and happy friday.....

The Pike Place Roast sounds good, I will have to try. We bought the Gevalia for awhile sometime ago. It was good, but their special winter one tasted really bizarre. There are so many different kinds now. I bought a Keurig coffee maker about a year ago. It makes one cup at a time. I usually use freshly ground of whatever we have at home and do that. You can buy little cups that work with it, like Neumann's, Carribou Coffee, etc. I like it because it makes one delicious cup at a time.
My husband doesn't use it for coffee (it makes plain old hot water too). He uses the 12 cup one, drinks 1/2 a pot and keeps warming it up all day, and drinks the other 1/2 pot the next day, reheated for the 512th time.
*Ick*
