Kristi's adventures, Part 5: Reaching full ketosisTrying to run on ketones and as expected, a little abdominal pain, tiredness and nausea. I'm ready to go through all that shit to get my whole body (brain and muscles) to adapt to ketones. Hopefully, I'll lose some belly fat in the process. Want to keep my curves though.My fat is high (80-85%), protein low (60-70g daily) and carbs very low (less than 10g daily). My main fat source is goat butter and I looooove it! Had some goat kidneys tonight too. I'm all goat.

Kristelle, I think your numbers and ratios all look great. You should be able to lose some weight, if you need to, that is. Please don't lose your curves!

As I understand the body will not loose weight...this is one of the drawbacks of a true keto adaptation - which takes many months for the body. To me it looks like having more drawbacks and I can not believe, that it is our natural diet; ALWAYS eating VERY HIGH FAT.

I know about the group and that's where I got inspired to go on this diet. I definetly want to feel how it is to be fully adapted to ketones and Mary did mention that she lost belly fat on this diet which is the only thing I want to lose. I love my curves and I wouldn't mind a little more. Jeff, you'll be the first to see my new and improved body, k? 
Whether this is natural or not is debatable. In the end, each of us must strive to find a diet that works best for us. Perhaps, after this experiment of mine, I will realize it isn't for me but I need to know for sure. You can only go so far with theories. Let's test the theory and see what happens... Today's update... Very tired due to much less glucose in my body but feel better now. Like way better! Ate some lamb tongue, calamari, cod liver and tons of goat butter. Will have some more tongue later tonite...yum...I love using...ugh, I mean...eating tongue.

My goal to run on ketones has been (perhaps temporarily) replaced by the need to restore health. So, I'm adding in some carbs and choosing to eat just enough carbs to stay OUT of ketosis.
Once (and if) I stick with this diet for at least 2-3 weeks, I will report back in my new journal...Part 6. |
