My workouts, menus and ramblings Morning all! I have decided to take the plunge and start a journal. Today marks the 6th day of VLC for me. Ultimately, I'd like to think I could get to zero carb, but right now I still have a few crutches...I take some sports supplements that have 12 carbs, and then there is my evening treat...diet coco mixed in coffee with some cream...can we say YUM!! and then I am also using raw organic nuts in the evening to keep myself away from the more carbs!! So that puts me at just under 30 carbs a day.
I have a love affair going with the iron. I love to lift, but I do think I could probably push myself a bit more than I have. My hope is that keeping this journal will help put a proverbial fire under my butt with that...
My current favorite book is Vince Gironda's "Wild Physique". To me, Rachel McLish and Gladys Portugues will always embody the perfect female physique
I also just started the "couch to 5K" program this week. Today was day 2!
Warm up followed by 8 sets of running 60 seconds/walking 90 seconds.
Today I am not as hungry, I think I am making up for yesterday...2018 cals...and loved every LC moment
I am tracking my weight and calories but I'm not trying to manipulate anything for the first 2 or 3 weeks. Right now I am just trying to focus on eating better.
My ideal workout week is...
M--weights--UB, and couch to 5 K
T--weights--LB and arms, stretch
W--couch to 5K, core work, stretching
Th--weights--UB, stretching
F--couch to 5K, core work and stretching
Sa--weights--LB and stretching
My main foods include...
Slightly seared beef
sausages
eggs
bacon
corned beef
cheese
nuts
chocolate diet coffee
Well, I guess that is it for now...have a great day

Sandy,
Welcome to the Journals! So glad you decided to start your own! It's a great way to keep track of what you're doing... and get lots of support in the process.
Look forward to reading about your journey!

Sandy, it sounds like you have a great plan. Your foods are very similar to mine. Actually, your exercise is not that different from mine, either. If you stick with it I think you'll have great results. Keep us posted.

I just ordered this book but I haven't received it yet though. Soon enough I can read it for myself.
Welcome to journal-land, always entertaining.

I also did the shopping this morning, scored some beef roast for $1.88 # ! I love that!!!
Other than that, I really should clean out my closet a bit, but right now I am toast! Perhaps a nap instead!!
Heather~I loved the book! Vince is big on MEAT!! I also like his variations on a few of the old bodybuilding standards like the bench press. Oh, and the pictures...drool!
Well, hope everyone has a great day!

I have that book! Bought it several years ago, you'll love it. Isn't Vince the one that wore that trademark leopard skin posing outfit? :)
