OK, finally...I commit! Hi, My name is Sandy and I am a carb addict! My story is probably very similar to all of yours, and I am tired of this stupid merry go round!
I am a 42 year old stay at home mom of 2 wonderful teens. My DH is a quadrapelegic and due to the extra stress, I have often found myself at the bottom of an m&m bag or oreo box. Luckily I have been blessed with a good metabolism and I enjoy working out, so the impact on my weight has always been minimal...it is the impact on my health-both physical and emotional which led me to this WOL.
Alright, enough pity party shtuff. I am good at making excuses and I am ready to change! I need to stop the downward spiral of carb overload and the resulting sugar hangover wich leaves me dizzy, headachy, and bloated! YUCK!
I was thinking about starting an exercise journal or perhaps a food log type journal here, but I noticed that not many people do. I need to start holding myself to a higher standard!!
I look forward to getting to know all of you better!
Thanks for listening...Sandy

Sandy,
So glad you have decided to join us in our struggles. You will find much support here! You should start a Journal... and even an Exercise Log. Or you can just put your exercise stuff in you Journal.
Look forward to getting to know you, and offering support for your journey.
Thanks for sharing.

Sandy, welcome. Like Dean said, you will find much support here. Go ahead and start a food journal if you'd like. Most of us did at one time, but I think the reason most of us stopped is because we found ourselves writing pretty much the same thing day after day. I think writing things down makes you pay more attention to what you eat. Anyways....welcome, and enjoy the ride!

Hi Sandy!
Wow, you are a champion just for surviving such heartache.
Unfortunately my metabolism is totally screwed (hence why I made it all the way up to 473 pounds).
Trust me when I say this is the only diet that leads to long term health (if you have carb issues).
My fiancee has found her moods and hypoglycemia completely managed on this diet!
Good to have you onboard the bus!

Wow! Thanks for all the warm welcomes!
I will have to think on this whole journal idea. On one hand I could see how it could get repetitive and boring, but it also might help me spot trends or recurring triggers...we'll see ??
Dean~Thank you so much for all your hard work on this site, you are really doing great!!
Jeff~I have to admit that you are quite an inspiration! Nice pics!
Dave~It is great to hear how your fiancee is doing. Those mood swings are horrendous. Funny, when I was little I can remember always wondering what kind of mood my mom was going to be in when she came home. Sometimes she was fine, other days like fire and brimstone . It is scarey when I can see myself acting the same way sometimes. :need a shudder icon: Carbs are BAD news!! Thank you for that reminder! How are you doing??
Well, just finished watching Hero's and I'm off to have some nuts before bed...Night all!
