September 30 Day Rate Your Eating ChallengeSince we are all creatures of habit, it is possible to develop good dietary ones.
I want to propose a Challenge for September, where we can all participate, and stay in the Challenge for the entire month.
It will go like this.
Each person will rate themselves on how well they stuck to their chosen WOE for each day of the month. On a scale of 1-5... 5 being the highest. See how many points you can rack up for the month.
Add up your points and post 'em here. You decide how well you are doing. And, keep yourself accountable, and conscious of what you are doing. That is the best way to develop good habits. It aint about being perfect (except for jeff... but, as kateryna already pointed out, he's not really human anyway ).
So... get ready... get psyched... September is coming, and we can all try to change our habits, and keep ourselves moving forward toward a better WOE. You know that you have improved your habits ever since you started trying to. Be honest. If you'd never tried, you'd be much worse off than you are now. So, let's get on the stick and try to practice the best WOE we can. Come October, we will be much better off than we are now. Right?

Good idea....I'm in, even though I'm not human.

On August 24th, jeff racks up all 150 points to score a perfect compliance with his WOE for the NEXT month of the year!
Yah... he aint human.

Actually, Mae, you're doing better than the rest of us. I forgot all about it. I suppose I would have to give myself all 5's so far. I haven't eaten anything that I would consider off-limits for myself. I did come close one day last week, though. The baker at work had made some new chocolate cake type thingy and was going around giving everybody samples, to get their opinion. I took a small piece....about the size of my pinky finger......and put it in my mouth. I gave it a couple of chews, then spit it out! I actually tasted it just as though I had swallowed it. So I thought to myself, why swallow it? I already know what it tastes like. Pretty proud of myself for that one.

Quite happy being child-free at the moment!

That goes double for me! I am not child-free, but more kids would not be good at this point.

Sep. 11 - 5, Sep 12 - 3, Sept 13 - 5 (1st day of Ramadan), Sep 14 - 5
I'm doing Ramadan fasting. Eat before 6 am and after 8 pm. This is my second day. Bacon, eggs coffee before 6 and porkchops and coffee after 8. Need to get more creative. But I've been successful. I haven't even had coffee between 6am and 8pm. I guess you're not even allowed water but with my asthma I need to sip it on occasion. I'm going to see how long I can last. No I'm not muslim but hey a challenge is a challenge.
I'm going to do the same thing if I can find out what the Jewish fasting rules are and then there's lent. Think I'll give up all carbohydrates for lent

Fantastic challenge ideas! I started M&E at ALC as a Lent challenge in 2006. I never even knew what Lent was before that, or M&E for that matter....
I love the way I feel when fasting, but something always seems to interfere, usually something in my own head.
And for this challenge I think I'm still at zero. Today might be a 2, my first points....

Heather, I'm doing good. Day 3 of the fast, I'm down 1 1/2 pounds and not thinking of cheating. I think it's the eating twice a day. Actually, after 8 and until going to bed you can eat non-stop, but you just don't want to. And since I'm keeping it very low carb the hunger seems to be dissipating. The only problem I have is that between 6 am and 8 pm I can't have coffee or water. Well I've sipped a bit of water but not having coffee during the day is devastating. But I've managed it.

It's the 19th and I'm still riding the 5's. Boring myself with perfection (as she blows on her nails). (too much bragging lends itself to the saying "the mightier they think they are the harder they fall). Ok so I'll be humble from now on, it's just that I've been failing for so long I want to beat my chest a little now that I'm succeeding.

Great job, Kat. Nothing wrong with blowing your own horn. You should be proud.

Well it was good while it lasted. Beat my chest a little too much. Thursday and Friday both rated a 1
Tonight it's just a rib eye and nothing else. Lot's of water.
