TeaI am flabbergasted!
I just had a cup of white tea..
I started feeling a caffeine rush..
So I look on the box and one of the ingredients in the tea is "modified corn starch."
WTF?
why on earth would they put MCS in tea??????

Did you brew it fresh with a tea bag? Or did you use a powder?
I use the Bigelow Green Tea Bags, there is nothing but Green Tea in mine.

With some products, for instance grated cheese, they will ad MCS in order to prevent clumping. It could be the same situation with your tea.

I have this strange suspicion about my favorite tea. It's called Bengal Spice fron Celestial Seasons, it's a chai tea. It doesn't list anything bad except it says "natural flavors"....It's really sweet tasting..that is probably why I love it. I have googled it..haven't found anything bad...but it's just so sweet. Anyone heard anything bad about this one?

I find that Chai Tea tends to taste sweet...possibly the Spice, itself...Maybe someone that knows will let us know!!!

Chai IS suppose to be sweet, this I know. But this one is surprisingly sweet..that's all. I know it has carob and cinnamon..both are sweet..but not that sweet. Anyway..I love the stuff..hope it's not bad for me..cause I am thinking about eloping with it.

I have had the chai tea before, and it does taste sweet. But I have no idea what is in it.

I was talking about a tea bag from Celestial Seasons..their chai..it doesn't list HFCS...and it better not be in there..can they call THAT "natural flavors" ? It's got 0 for the carb count.

I hope not!
Do y0u think that the sweet taste releases insulin? Just wonderin'.

Dean, I have thought about that a lot. If I had more test strips for the glucose meter I would see. Maybe a friend can give me some more and I will experiment. I do like being a lab monkey.
I sure hope not cause this is my one treat...and I want to elope with it.
