Top of the Bus

Well, I finally decided to start a journal. Yay me. I choose the Bus, cause it's my favorite forum, even if I'm usually quiet. I was going to sit in the back. But looking at the picture, looks like the top is pretty fun too.

Anyhow. I tried doing 90% fat, but got a pretty consistent fail on it. 80% is pretty common, though.

During my attempt at the true high fat, I managed a truly majestic 3000 calorie day. For me it's big anyhow. I was skeered at first...but then I noticed something. I wasn't hungry afterwards for almost 24 hours. Which makes me think I'll try my own little IF experiment this week. I wasn't watching the clock, shaking and wishing to eat, like the time I tried it before.

So...I think I'll try to eat at least 80% for 3000 or so calories, and then see if I can go the twenty four hours without distress, this time. I'm going to try on Dr. Mike's timetable, the five in the afternoon to fine in the afternoon 24 hours. I guess...I just wasn't doing enough calories on the eat days last time. I was truly miserable.

Now to figure out what to do with this lovely 12 pounds of brisket I got a 1.25 a pound. I couldn't resist that price...but oi, that thing is big.

/end ramble. Have a good day, all!

Welcome to Journaland, Cherrycat! Cool

Yah, the top of the Bus is where the Merry Pranksters like to ride when they're doin' drive-by hunting of cows in the pastures we go by! Wink Hey, we can't live by Kool-Aid alone. Although, sometimes it does seem like we could. Grin
jeff

Welcome!!!  Yes, the top of the Bus is plenty fun......just not quite as private as the back of the Bus. Wink

Hummph. It's five o'clock now, and I only managed 79% fat and 2344 calories ins spite of a big ole  nearly one pound Delmonico steak, butter and gorgonzola cheese. And some other stuff. Well, I'll see if it holds me over until five or so tomorrow.

Oh, on Saturday I was at 210.5 lbs, after quite a bit of eating high fat. Lowest I've been in months. We'll see. I don't weigh daily, I'm a neurotic mess as is, without going nutso like I get when I start weighing daily.

Drinking Kool Aid and shooting cows...hmm, no gun. Are my trusty rubber band and box of paper clips ok? You never know when you'll get a lucky shot. Especially under the influence of that Kool Aid.
Dean

Once you've had some of Shawn's finest, you'll score a perfect hit the first time you go shooting those rubber bands! Wow

Private, eh? Does this need for privacy have to do with things I've been hearing about whips, chains, and high heeled black leather boots?

Dangnabbit...Only made it to 2378 again, with 80% fat, 109 grams protein. Though it might have been more, since the layer of fat on my brisket was certainly more than a paltry quarter of an inch. I certainly feel full.

I do exercise, though more for health and pain relief than any weight loss benefits. I have Lupus, and it's chosen to express it's self with problems with DVT and even one pulmonary embolism. This has damaged the veins in my legs..called venous insufficency. It hurts unless I exercise. Doesn't have to be particularly strenuous, but at least half an hour, preferably broken up a bit.

So today, so far, half an hour of aerobics, with an exercise tape that shall be un-named, lest fingers point and giggles ensue. Later, I'm going to try a resistance band workout for about thirty minutes.

Cherrycat, sounds like you'd fit right in our World Tour! Cool

as a single person who buys meat on the hoof (cow), and in 'family packs' for the rest, here's what i do; i cut the cooked meat into 1-2 serving sizes and vacuum seal. if it is brothy, i put the broth in containers and mark so i'll know what it goes with. the broth goes in the freezer but the meat will last a couple months in the fridge!! i usually eat it within a month, though. just make sure the packages don't lose their vac. i do the same for big cheese (costco)....no need to freeze. this really goes for anything. i have my grocer order me a case of beeler's bacon ends and pieces which come in a box of 2# packs. i break each one up and vac it. i don't eat bacon regularly so this works great.  the food saver is a simple one that cost $39. i wash and re use bags til they are either too small or will no longer hold the vac. i have way less waste this way.
Cherrycat

Thank you, jem. I hadn't thought of one of those vacuum thingies. That makes a lot of sense if I'm going to be buying large packs for just me. I don't live alone..well, not really. Roomie is a long haul trucker, so me and the Ebil Cat are alone for long stretches of time.

Hm, the around the world thing...I bet if I read closer, I'd figure it out..but I choose to be blonde and lazy. How would say half an hour of Pilates work into that? Or is just days I bounce around like a fool..err..aerobics...for awhile?

2-3 klicks, maybe? If really intense, more. You decide. Just grab that Magic Torch and help us get around the world. God knows they're not gettin' any help from me, lately! Except when I go downtown. Devil
Cherrycat

Didn't realize there would be math..oh, the humanity...

Anyhow, I'll add it all up on Sunday. What happens downtown? Or should I say, what happens to downtown?

There's a choice?
Cherrycat

Hehe. Rather good point. But yes. I have to believe I choose. Scary to be born that way.
