When you lift weights do your muscles retain a little water? When you lift weights do your muscles retain a little water, thus the scale could be a little up the next day? I've heard this, but most of what I've heard about nutrition is bogus info, so I don't know!
I ask because I'm up .6 of a lb and the only thing I did differently was 2 sets of squats and 2 sets of dead lifts (w/light weight). I know this is nothing to most, but I'm completely out of shape and just starting back. I am very sore this morning, so maybe I'm retaining a *little* water. Or is it that I just ate too much yesterday (this is also possible).
TIA!

I seem to recall the when I started lifting once that the same thing happened to me. I think it's normal.

Thanks Jeff!
I'm thinking I should "burn" each muscle group every 4-5 days or so....does this sound good? Ultimately I want a trim, hot body! About 7 years ago I was doing something close to this (heavy, full body workout 2Xs a week..that's it, little to no cardio) and I got in AWESOME shape. Was it the routine or was it because I was in my 20s?

Probably some of both. Resting a muscle group at least 2-3 days after lifting is good.
