Zero Carb Diet study on pigsCourtesy of some feller on the AV-Skeptics group
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/6735620
This gist is that pigs on an 85% fat, zero carb diet lost 25% of the ingested calories (via feces) vs. 7% for pigs on a mixed diet. Granted we're not pigs. Interesting nonetheless.

So for pigs, there is a metabolic advantage to zero carb!!! But, was the study done in a metabolic ward?

Come to think of it, Jeff. Your diet experiment matched this pretty closely, didn't it? How many calories magically vanished during it? 1000/day? Something like that?

Yes Dan, in my experiment, about 1000 calories per day magically disappeared. But then, this is the Magic Bus.

What are AV's dietary recommendations?
I've heard about the high meat but I don't really know much else.

This is horrible news. I don't want skinnier pigs, I want fatter pigs! They run slower that way, and I can rob more liquor stores.
In all seriousness, here's a belated thanks for posting this good article.
