Hi,
I felt a little bad about posting the little kitty for the tigers, hardly a fierce looking carnivore. This picture is much better, this tiger looks scary (or maybe he just had a bit too much kool-aid at the back of the bus).
Even though cream may cost me points, I plan to make this my meal of choice on this challenge.
Or Tiger wrapped in bacon

Yup, this guy's definitely been hitting the kool-aid -probably spiked with a couple of blue pills too! Methinks Tigger is high. |

Alright, Linda!
Yah, us Tigers had a wonderful practice session this weekend.
We're takin' a day of rest today, and will be in prime condition to go at it, starting tomorrow.
Those panthers may look fierce, but us kitty cats are pretty scrappy.

Ok, I'm excited as well! I LOVE that I'm on the Panther team....I'm originally from North Carolina and am a huge Carolina Panther fan!
I found this product that I wanted to run by y'all......it's called "Fast Fixings Philly Steaks". On the label the only ingrediant listed is beef. It's kind of like Steak-Ums but WAY better tasting (more meaty, fresh tasting) and comes in frozen patties that break up as you cook it. I really love these and could eat them 3 Xs a day. Since this is 100% beef with no preservatives or extra ingrediants of any kind, is this ok? I'm pretty sure it is, I just wanted to check.
1 more food ?........How does shrimp work in? I love keeping frozen salad shrimp on hand. I melt a tablespoon of butter and add about a 1/2 clove of crushed garlic in a pan, sautee for 1-2 minutes and then add a cup or so of this shrimp. Is this ok or should I cut out the tiny amount of garlic?
I want to do this right and I want to a menu above reproach! I will make the panthers proud! |

Shae,
Everything you mentioned would get you lots of points. Seasonings are allowed on this Contest, so they don't factor in at all. Butter is allowed as a non-dairy item, simply to get the animal fat ratios up. What you mentioned sounds wonderful. Eating only this type of food would give you 4 points a day. If you could sneak in some raw egg yolks or even a lightly seared steak, with some raw in the middle, you could get some good nutrients and another point for the panthers. _________________ When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.

Ok, so if I eat one raw egg a day, that will bump me up to 5? I'll do it!
I don't want to offend anyone with what I'm about to say...this is just **me**...........I can't even begin to imagine eating raw meat. I'd rather not eat. I like my steak med-rare, but that's as far as I can go. I know this is a mental thing, but I just can't help it. I can, however, do the egg. In fact, I'd rather drink a couple of raw eggs than eat them. So I guess this is how I'll be getting my raw point! |

Shae,
That's funny that you don't have a problem with raw eggs, but do have a problem with raw meat. Many are just the opposite. That's great that you can at least do raw eggs. I've been eating three every day for the last month. I consider them my vitamin/mineral supplement. You are so correct about it all being a mental thing. It is powerful acculturation, isn't it? Many people will probably never get to the point of eating raw meat or even raw eggs, but the less you cook your animal food, the greater the benefits. I know exactly what you mean about the mental thing, though. That is one of the largest hurdles I am facing as I move toward doing that raw meat thing. I'm not sure how far I'm gonna go with it, but it will be very interesting to see. For me, it's a great challenge that I am focused on and am slowly evolving toward, which is certainly keeping me from ever thinking about serious junk food. _________________ When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.

I'm sure you can give some of your teammates some good motivation with that. Especially the one you're right on top of.

Well, for me, it is April 1.
I just threw a pint of heavy cream down the drain, and dumped the rest of my coffee into the trash. Wasn't much left, but it's all gone now.
I am officially kickin' this April Carnivore Contest off and goin' for 150 points!
This is all I will eat for the whole month of April:
Allowed
* any part of any animal (natural clean cuts)
* eggs
* unsalted butter
* seasoning, ZC condiments
* water
And, I will be doin' daily raw eggs &/or meat.
If I can do it, so can you. I'm talkin' to the Tigers, here. I've heard Panthers love sweets and rubbish.
Go, Tigers, go!
All the way! _________________ When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.

You threw her down the drain?? Oh, that's cold.
I'm going to try to stick to:
-meat and animal fat
-eggs
-butter
-salt
-water
I've got exams starting next week so I hope I don't get all and and end up with a gob full of 'bacon' donuts!
AGH! How does the old saying go...? Giving up carbs is hard -giving up excuses is harder!
Right then, better get out the big guns for this battle (Heather, I need your whip!). |

Hello fellow tigs and pants -
something tells me I'm going to be averaging about 3 points a day....does goat cheese count as dairy? Yeah I know!
I'm quite happy to try to give up cow stuff but it isn't going to be easy - I'm really dairy addicted now! Is there any withdrawal? Maybe I should lock myself in my house today and rough it out haha. I need a dairy detox centre to go to - I need rehab.
BTW I bought some new boots yesterday specifically for this experiment - they are mauve suede ones - will do? Still trying to find a spare whip though...

Question...would a hamburger patty made strictly from ground beef and sirloin with no added ingredients be considered "processed meat"? If it is, then I can probably manage 3 pts per day. If it's not considered processed, then I should be able to manage 4 pts. per day. I just can't do the raw thing yet. I just started LC in early January, so this is as good as it gets for me right now.
Good luck to everyone!

Good luck everyone - and go Panthers! My panther here is still in cheese withdrawal. You can see the stress of no more old cheddar in his eyes.
Again, I'm aiming for 100 points! Posting the rules on my fridge. Coconut milk is in the veg/nut/oil category and will be reported accordingly. I am going to count the carbs as well. Fitday, here I come. _________________ www.fearandloathinginthekitchen.com |

Day 1 is done for me!
Ate 2 porterhouse steaks (I think in the US they're called 'strip steaks'?) with about 3 Tbs goose fat and a little salt.
I haven't yet ditched the black coffee
Maybe tomorrow, huh?
