yeah I know - it was difficult abstaining from cheese - it kept calling me!
I have some goat cheese though which I want to try to see if it affects me any differently - I lost weight before just eating goat cheese. Guess that means I won't be up at 5 points any time soon Looks like the other tigers are going to have to help me out with the points!
However, today is no vegetation and no AS, and prolly no wine either See, I just can't get it right - either no wine or no cheese. Mmmm cheese, or mmmmm wine. Mmmmm cheese and wine is too much mmmmmmm.
Does yerba mate tea count as vegetation? And do spices count? I wish there weren't like 30 salchichas left in the fridge - there are just tooo convenient.

And the Tigers take the lead!
Steak with butter, raw egg yolks, fried eggs in lots of lard. Lots of bits of butter to get my fat up. Serious caffeine withdrawals goin' on, but, it'll be OK in a few days.
Finally got that scoreboard fixed. Now we can see the game, with the running score and the stats of each player on each team. That should make it much more exciting.
BTW, scroll back from the beginning of this Contest, and you will see how neck and neck these teams are already proving to be. Random Assignment. It really works. I can see why it's always used in research studies to split a group of participants into the control and experimental groups. It's the best way to assure equivalent groups.
Yes, this should really be a close game. So don't nobody go nowhere.

Wow, BJ, you're goin' as strict as me on this one, huh? That's a good thing, especially since you're on my team! Go Tigers!
| Linda wrote: | | BTW, If I'm incorrect about considering ground beef as not "processed" meat, please let me know and I will change my total. I'm thinking it's not the same as a hot dog, or deli meats, etc. |
You are thinking exactly correct, Linda. You are doin' fine with the meat you are eating.

Regina, there'll be plenty more Contests to come in future months. This Metabolic Ward isn't going anywhere.
Great idea about cheering us on. Us Tigers do appreciate our fans.

Seasoning, Badger. Nada problem.

That sounds like a VLC beverage. It wouldn't count as vegetation. Spices are seasonings. No problem there, either.

Loops, you aren't the only one! Man, I'm dealin' with major dairy and coffee withdrawals. I may need to have a Boot Babe escort me down to that recently renovated padded cell. That sorta makes detox worth it. _________________ When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.

Only 4 points for me, as I had some cream along with my raw eggs as a shake. Other food items today include pork, hot sauce, butter, coffee , and beef. |

Tell ya what -
we can go down there together. I need to break my new boots in
Ok, ok, I succumbed to the goat gum. HOWEVER no cream - no way, not after the fake pregnancy I had this morning. No cow gum all day.
Yes - AS in my coffee bah. Yes, more green beans (more gut problems), yes, more salchichas but THAT IS THE LAST OF THEM GONE!! I my cats, they are so useful. I just hope they don't die from all the salt.
I also somehow seem to have a glass of Chardonnay (from our own valley) here. No excuse for that one I'm sure.
However, I did eat some raw egg yolk today easypeasy that one.
So I guess I have, what ....wait....2 whole points for today? Or is that just one again??? Too much for my cow-gum-deprived brain I'm afraid.

Loops and Bobi....I added in your totals above. I hope I'm doing this correctly by stepping in and doing that.
I added 4 pts. to my total today. I had ground sirloin burgers, sirloin steak, and chicken thighs today. All meat and plenty of water. My biggest accomplishment is turning down anniversary cake from the best bakery in town today. A whole cake was delivered to our office celebrating 20 years in the building. I didn't even stick my finger in the frosting. (Sigh!)

Eggs fried in butter
Yesterday's red steak (cold)
Missed the fifth point due to inability to refuse either cream or sausage. |

And it's the Tigers by two!
Great game! Both teams are rackin' up some serious points.
How many lead changes have we had so far? Random Assignment, let me tell ya. I think we've already proven it's effectiveness in guaranteeing a close game.
The headaches are gettin' much better. On this WOE, caffeine withdrawals are really not near as severe as when I've been on a carb-based diet.
Today, I ate slabs of butter (about half a stick) during the day, then in the evening, I ate some extremely rare cooked thick pork steaks. I relished the fat on these guys. It just melted in my mouth. Pork is gonna become such a staple food for me. It's so fatty and so inexpensive. I used to avoid it, but I don't have any real reason to. It's great stuff.
I've got some chicken hot wings in the oven as we speak. They've been in there awhile, and boy, do they smell heavenly! Guess what I'll be eatin' tomorrow?
I also had some raw egg yolk. My vitamin/mineral supp, baby! _________________ When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.

You guys are too funny!
Linda, that's just fine. Anyone can help others get the points up on the scoreboard. I'll come through and clean it up later, so there will be a scoreboard in all the posts with participants scoring, but in the meantime, it's perfectly fine to do that. I encourage everyone to copy and paste the scoreboard to the top of their post, and then just add your points to your tally and to your team's score. If you have had too much wine or goat gum , you can just report your total, and then the next person can add your score in. Either way, I'm gonna come along and double check and fix everything anyway, but please post the scoreboard if you can, so that the fans can watch the game live.
BTW, everyone is doing so wonderful in this Contest! This is one kick-ass carnivore clan in this wing of the Ward! _________________ When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.

Hey everybody -
I just had a whoosh of a WHOLE KILO overnight after ditching cow gum for only a day and eating copious amounts of goat gum instead - and way too many calories. Ok so I only got 2 points yesterday but I'm trying harder today. I'm gonna go for at least 3 points today and then 4 tomorrow and then 5 etc.
Just wanted to share that because I've been kinda stuck/gaining on cow gum. Black tea is taking some getting used to though - don't mind too much!

I didnt have the cracklins yesterday but, if i can control myself, ill have those every other day because they are calorically (is that a word?) loaded! 5 points for miss mina
incidentally.. kristelle.. what does duck taste like? and for some odd reason duck eggs sound divine! |

Panthers, It's w/regret that I have to say I got no points for yesterday. I ate a homemade breadstick.
I promise to make it up today! I *will* force down a raw egg or two at some point. I WILL earn 5 points today! |

i know it.. i used to (i probably shouldnt be antagonizing) whip it up with cocoa and splenda and eat it.. always been a black coffee drinker.. sweetened or creamed tastes nasty to me..
i read on another forum a recipe that the girls say tastes like cream in coffee.. have you ever tried this? (i dont know about it.. it might be too much work or not taste as good as they say it does.. ive not tried it)
| Quote: | | Put 1 tsp. instant decaf coffee or 1 shot of decaf espresso (you can use caffeinated, if you do caffeine) in a tall glass. Fill with ice. Add enough water to almost fill the glass and stir well. Add 3 raw egg yolks and stir until blended and cappucino-coloured. If you use sweeteners or flavourings, add to taste (I have mine plain and it's great). Enjoy! |

| Quote: | | I blend the eggs until frothy with warm water and fat (sometimes I get little white strands from the egg white b4 blending sometimes I don't, but it never seems to effect the final product) and then pour the mixture into a coffee cup filled about 1/3 of the way with hot coffee just poured from boiling water. It stays totally frothy like a cappuccino and there are no egg white texture issues. |
BTW: i do miss cream cheese.. just cant get over it. I may have a day next week sometime where I cook a bird with cream chesse under the skin.. yummo |

I actually have used the eggs yolks in coffee instead of cream. I did it with hot coffee. It actually was very good. You have to add the coffee very slowly to the egg yolks while stirring, otherwise you'll get scrambled eggs in your coffee. _________________ Eat, Drink and Be Merry, For Tomorrow We'll Die |

See Red's dairy-free latte: http://magicbus.myfreeforum.org/about857.html
I can vouch for it - amazing. Yolks make it creamy, whites give it froth.

Ok I get 3 points although I still haven't eaten dinner but I know what I'll have - basically no vegetation/oil, I had raw egg yolks and I kept to below 20g carb. But hey I'm no angel right now. I have been consumed by the goat monster who now resides in my fridge in place of the cow devil. Gotta have an exorcism I think.
Dinner is possibly steak, steak and more steak, with a smidgen of goat gum
I was trying to look for unpasteurized butter today but who the hell knows what they do to the dairy in this country? I'm gonna start ringing the manufacturers. Me thinks me needs more lipase or something.

If I manage like 10 egg yolks in one day does that give me more than 1 point? |

Chuck roast, samples of various meats at Brazilian Steakhouse, steak, water. I only get 3 pts. today because one of the meat samples was a sausage which would be considered "processed". |

Today: finished off those round steaks (~4 lbs.), ate some liver and had three eggs (raw yolks, cooked whites). Supplemented with butter. Dang I need another source of fat. |

Yah, Regina, I kinda figured that would be the team you'd root for!
I sorta feel like a traitor, though. Normally I'd be rootin' for the Hawks. Of course, they're prey, huh?

If y'all scroll back through the thread you'll see that I fixed everything. Kim, I got your raw meat point in your post. Everything looks good on the televised rerun. The live game looked like the score keeper had a bit too much Kool-Aid.
