Oooog, forgot about tomatoes. I may have to dig out my Atkins '72 bible and do a VLC veg check. I'm still in, regardless.

(What if tomatoes are eaten in VLC quantities?  Roll Eyes )

hey I want to be a cool kid too  Heart

someone has to recheck my numbers though sometimes because, as easy at it is, Im scared my brain will mess things up  Cry

if its not too much trouble, add me to the list!

oh i have a stupid question to ask: im going to be making stock this week. I add a mirepoix to the pot and may try roasting them with bones in the oven before putting in the water.. anyways I strain off that stuff and throw it away obviously.. so.. I dont have to count my stock as being vegetized right?  Devil

This is why I posted the defining terms thread.

I vote that as long as you are VLC for the day (<=20g) , that your "rubbish" of choice is VLC.

So, E, in the rules in the OP, you basically want me to change this:

Shock >>> To get any points you MUST eat only what's Allowed. <<< Shock

If you had something not allowed you are out for the day, you get zero points.

To this:

Shock >>> To get any points you MUST eat only what's Allowed and remain under 20g carbs. <<< Shock

If you had something not allowed or went over 20g carbs you are out for the day, you get zero points.


Should we also change this:
* VLC vegetables, nuts

To this:
* VLC vegetation

And this:
- no vegetables + no nuts + no oil

To:
- no vegetation + no oil

Yeah yeah, it's a fruit, I know.

I am preparing for this contest by learning some basic butter/egg sauces. Pretty tasty homework :)

Hi all!

I'm new to the bus, and would like to join your April challenge.  I started low-carbing on January 7th, but can't seem to get my body to lose weight.  I previously lost 55 lbs. on WW, but wasn't losing any more weight for over a year.  Then I read Gary Taubes' GCBC and decided LC was a healthier lifestyle.  I'm not just in this to lose the rest of my weight (another 50 lbs.), but to be healthier.  For almost two months I've been well under 20 carbs daily and have steadily been eliminating foods like LC veggies and fruits, most dairy, etc. trying to get my body to lose fat.  My thyroid test came back normal.  I think this should be a good way to see if I can finally kick it into weight loss mode.  

Question...does AS stand for artificial sweetener?

I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Hi,

I am in!  I am back on track after testing the waters outside the bus for a little while.  The good news is that the trips off the bus have become less enticing and satisfying.  I realize that I am getting more and more comfortable with a carnivore lifestyle.  I still have a ways to go but I plan to get there some day.  I am not aiming for a perfect 150 but I would like to be over 100 by the end of the month.

So glad you have joined us in this wing of the Ward.

Yah, this wing is designed to help people find out what they can and can't give up in their pursuit of a more natural and healthy diet, based on what we evolved on. If you can go all the way with this thing, you're lucky. It's not really about that, though. I mean it can be, if that's your thing. But, it's really more about focusing on something harder, so we'll get our minds off what we're "giving up" in our diet, and instead see what we're "adding to" our natural diet. I can begin to really appreciate how just a cup of coffee can be seen as a treat, and how I don't need to eat ice cream or pie for that mental fix. When I am focused on keeping veggies out of my diet, I'm not thinking about donuts. Haven't thought about those in months. If "slipping up" is eating some almonds or drinking some cream or eating a tomato, then we're doing pretty damn good, now aren't we?! LOL
