July Carnivore Contest
All foods should be as natural, fresh, and whole as possible. Animal fat should be kept high, and carbs kept very low. Toxic treats should be kept to a minimum. Figure out what you can handle. Figure out what you need. Set your own goals and be honest with yourself.
Set your own personal daily goal and give yourself a point for the day if you stick to what you want to eat to be healthy on your chosen way of carnivorous eating.
Have fun and work on changing your eating habits for the better!

Count me in. I like the new "speed through checkout system" i.e. simple rules.

Me too :) Come July my schedule will be back to normal. Well, pretty much. I've missed the ward.
I'm playing around with the Optimal Diet right now, but come July I want to give it a real go. I really need more fat. _________________ www.fearandloathinginthekitchen.com |

July sounds like a good place to jump in - count me in too. I really need to get back on track. Thanks for the "build your own challenge" challenge Dean!

Still working on the plan, tweaking daily, but sticking to it, and mean to continue to stick to it!

Hi,
Sign me up. I think I will go for carbs under ten as my goal for July but will aim for zero carbs most days, is that too wishy washy??? I am not ready to commit to zero carb for a month straight but I think I could do zero carb cycled with very low carb (under ten).

I'll give it another go. I learned that I was eating far too many veggies this past month, and felt really hungry a lot, so my goal is to eat mostly meat and fat (well eggs, but I mean that when I say meat, lol).
I went to a flyin, and thought it was funny, because they had a sign in front of the scrambled eggs that said "boneless chicken".

Hi,
I made it through Canada Day on zero carb. Pork belly, rib-eye and chicken thighs (no french fries). Today is day 4 of zero carb and I feel great. I walked to the fireworks tonight (I have always driven before) and on the way back, I ran most of it. I love how I feel on zero carb. I plan to continue to zero carb and then start adding in things one at a time in a couple weeks to see my reaction. The first thing I will try to add in is eggs. I have no idea if I am sensitive to them or not. My limit for adding is will be ten carbs max. That is my plan and I am sticking to it!

Hi,

Today was day five of zero carb. Chicken thighs, ground beef and blade roast. I was supposed to do a Tabata today but skipped it because I worked out with a trainer first thing this morning. I was tired today but am not sure if it is from too little sleep or adjusting to zero carb. At least my thirst has diminished.

I propose that when we update our points that we also include the date through which the points apply. That way, at the end of the month, we'll know how close everyone is to logging their totals.

Well, it would sorta look odd, for a scoreboard, and, it would also make it hard for me to be the "official scorekeeper", since I just copy and paste the previous scoreboard, so I don't have to analyze it, to see if it's OK. These scoreboards have been known to "get off"... along with contestants "getting off", perhaps?
Hey, feed your heads, people.
Seriously, though, my general rule has always been, that I learned from being in IT, is to keep it as simple as possible, cuz, things tend to get too complex on their own.
Oh, and that ebay surprise element is always sorta fun.
Really, sometimes people don't come around for a week, and, while they are gone, nobody knows how many points they racked up, anyway. So, there would still be that element of surprise, even with people posting dates. I mean, wouldn't there be? _________________ When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.

So at the moment, my goal is to stick with meat, egg, fats and veg and to stay off dairy! Condiments either homemade, or low-carb. Keeping carbs under 50g - yeah, sounds high around here I know, and that may change as I go along, and start tracking again. I don;t know if I've even hit close to 50g lately. My play starts Saturday, which means I finally get my life back.

Day six zero carb. Roast beef, shrimp (cooked in chicken fat) and pork loin chops.
I also rendered some beef fat and made some ghee. I just need to render some pork fat and I will be good to go for awhile. I bought lots of goodies at the butcher including some Korean cross-cut beef ribs. I am also cooking some pork hocks overnight in the crockpot, tomorrow I will make jellied pork from it.

I didn't think I could do a week of zero carb and here I am done day 8 and not a thought of wanting to add in some dairy or rubbish (well, a few fleeting thoughts, but nothing serious). Today I had pork belly slices and chicken wings. I also had a few pork rinds sprinkled with vinegar (pretty weird, hey?).
