The race went well, although I petered out the last couple of miles.  I started cramping up and slowed down quite a bit around mile 12.

I finished 5,616 out of 14,438, and in my age/sex group I was 268 out of 471.

I think I"ll rest for a few days before running again.  LOL

I noticed I forgot to post my time.  It was 2:07:30.

I feel like running today!  Actually, I felt like it yesterday, but didn't have the time.  I should be able to squeeze in a run this afternoon.

Jeff, if you feel like eating, eat, and if you feel like running, run. For a man of your advanced years, you are really acting like a youngster.  Grin Must be your diet.  LOL

Timed myself for a 5 mile run in the park today.  I ran it in 43:53, which is on :50 off my best time for that distance.  Not bad, considering I ran a half-marathon 4 days ago.

Oh, and it was sunny and hot out, too.  Sunny

I can now wear 29 inch pants.  I think the last time I wore smaller than 30 inch pants I was probably 10 years old.  No shit! When will it end?  LOL

yOu should have been around in the early days.  I actually had a nude photo of myself posted, but within a few hours photobucket took it down.  Bastards.  Heather had saved a copy, but that was lost several hard drives ago.  Sad   I'll only say that you could see something that appeared to be my big toe, but we can't be sure.

Anything goes in the basement!  Wink

Time to force everybody to look at pictures from my weekend in Chicago with some carnivorous friends!!!

Jeff and Charles at the beach, looking for a volleyball game.

Matt, Moxie, Charles, Lee and Jeff at the beach

Jeff getting ready to "meat load" at Fogo De Chao Brazilian steakhouse the night before the race.

Jeff "sprinting" to the finish line.

Charles and Jeff showing off our medals after the race.

Sorry, these last two are small.  I couldn't resize them.
Jeff, Moxie, Charles and Lee enjoying the Susan Tedeschi concert in Grant Park after the race

Lee, Jeff, Charles and Moxie, waiting for the train.

Check this out.

Chances are, much of what you know (or think you know) about running is wrong.

Don't give em any ideas Kate - the biscuits covered in white gravy is bad enough!! Things I never knew could be deep fried until I moved to the south: Oreo's, pickles, pork chops, turkey, sandwiches...ugh, I could go on and on...but I won't  Happy

Thanks. It seems that it worked out quit well for him.  Wink

There is a concept of so called gravity running (chi running, pose method) and I think it's more suitable for a very long distances but I will add  Pirie's method to my "what I want to learn this year" list.

I've made that..it's pretty good. Sunny

I do have to admit that I play drunken church bingo and eat a corn dog once a year..but then I live right across from the fair grounds.

My 10k race went ok.  I was a little disppointed with my time, but I thought it was a good effort.  The course was very hilly, which I was not expecting.  Plus, it was very warm and humid.

My time was 57:46.  I was hoping for 53:00.  The hills really took a toll on me.  It took longer and longer to recover from each one.

Overall I finished 37 out of 69.  Devil   In my division, I was 7 out or 12.

I did not wear bandaids on my nipples. (that's for yOu)
