Dean, did you have any indigestion problems eating cheese?  My body didn't like cow dairy too much, the goat is much better.  Just curious.

Don't overdo it in the back of the bus...ease into it..maybe just use a 1/2 a stick of butter. Devil

So in week 3 you ate about 7000 calories less than you did for week 2, yet you lost virtually the same amount of weight.  It sure seems that the number of calories is not all that important.  Could Bear be right again?  LOL

And you use to be somewhat of a skeptic.  I think that's why these individual experiments are so important.  People can hear someone tell them that calories don't matter, but they will not really believe it until they experience it for themselves.

Thursday February 5

3114 Calories
82% Fat

Ground Beef
Provolone Cheese
Italian Sausage/Provolone Cheese Omelet

Excellent eating today! Yah, I sure missed my dairy. Heart I just hope it doesn't jinx this body fat loss deal. Sad

The Italian sausage is just fresh ground pork with wonderful dry seasoning. I missed that stuff too. I will be making an Italian Sausage Pizza Omelet here real soon! Cool

http://magicbus.myfreeforum.org/about687.html

Man, it's so good to be back IFing! I went till very late this evening with no food. I got so fricken high from doing the fasting. Felt utterly fantastic all day. I'm getting in such great moods doing this ZCarnivore thing. It's like I have forgotten what depression and anxiety feel like. Sweet!

Dean, I am wondering if you might have some tips for me?

I am not eating anywhere near the calories you have been, but I am aiming for 80% fat from calories this month, and I am getting a bit nauseous.  I like to eat just 2 meals a day, morning and evening with 10-12 hours inbetween, but for me to eat that much fat in one sitting isn't very doable (as of yet). How many meals are you eating a day?  Does it get easier?  Did you have this problem?  Or did you eat tallow/marrow broth inbetween meals?

Any imput would be much appreciated, Thanks, y0u.

y0u know, back in the beginning, I was eating meals spread out through the day, but, starting this week I'm back to IF, which I love, and, therefore, eating just in the evenings, although, that may be two or even three times. Usually it's just two.

I use a lot of lard to cook omelets in, and when I eat these gigantic over one pound burgers, they are super fatty ground beef, and I pour all the drippings over the meat and eat all of it. I also have been using lots of cheese as well. All and all, the calories creep up there. I still get a bit nauseous myself, but, nothing like the first week of this experiment! I'm glad that part is over! LOL

Of course, now that I've added dairy back in, gettin' in lots of animal fat is not hard at all. Especially when I get to lick all that butter of them Boot Babes! Devil

I've been doin' as much animal fat as I can to help bring up the calories and fat percentages. Gettin' butter off the butter dish helps out a lot. Heart

That is really the heart of this MAM Experiment. Cool

Where are we with this, now?

Italian Sausage/Provolone Cheese Omelet

What do you get when you take one pound of Italian sausage, a half pound of provolone cheese, 4 large eggs, and cook it all in 4 oz of lard?

A 3646 calorie omelet! LOL

Man, this thing was so filling I had to eat it in two servings, an hour apart. There were so many huge chunks of sausage and it was just oozing all over with provolone. Heart

Great Going Dean!

You should drop that Silly IF.

I think your experiment has shown how irrelevant IF is to losing weight. Also how irrelevant calories are.

Dave,

I don't do IF for weight loss. Never have. I do it so my body has a chance to heal. It makes me feel great. Same thing with exercise. It's not necessary to do that for weight loss, but, it makes me feel good and builds my muscles, increases circulation, moves lymph around, sweats out toxins, etc. Of course, if I don't exercise, I'm not worried too much about it, and if I do eat whenever, same thing.

I also don't think it's necessary to eliminate every last carb from one's diet to lose weight. In fact, when I used to eat tons of fruits and veggies and meat (no dairy) I lost no problem. I do strict animal food because it is simple, and it feels good, and it is healing to my body. I think eating animal food is WAY more important than doing ZC. Animal fat especially is where all the good nutrients are. I really don't trust non-animal fats at all. I think they are very dangerous to our bodies from a biochemical perspective.

As far as the most benign sources of non-animal food, I would guess that veggies might not be too bad, except the fiber. Berries might actually be the best. Of course, those things just complicate my diet and cause me to spend extra time and money on something I can do without. However, if in the future I decide to eat mushrooms, berries, or even carrots in stews, I'm not gonna trip on it in the least. Now that would be silly, Dave. Wink

You know, even though I'm doin' eggs and cheese, I'm still keepin' my carbs around 5g a day. So, technically (according to Bear) that's still ZC. Wink

Need I say more? Can I have some wine now? LOL

Cheesy Meat Balls

I have never made meat balls in my life. I know they are supposed to have bread crumbs in them, but, I have been having this fantasy since way back in the Fall, when I gave up cheese, that one day, when I would be stuck in the Metabolic Ward, surrounded by all these beautiful Boot Babes Devil ... Wait! Shock That was another fantasy! Wink But, yah, I've been having this fantasy about making meatballs with various dry seasoning and shredded cheese. So, tonight, I grabbed three pounds of ground beef, some various seasonings, some shredded pepper jack, and four large eggs. I kneaded all this together in a large mixing bowl and then formed meat balls and threw 'em in a 350 degree oven for a bit over a half hour. Thing is, I put WAY too much cheese in 'em! LOL Go figure. With cheese, I seem to have an over indulgence impulse. Of course, that's the same problem I have with that other fantasy. But, at least for that they make handcuffs! DevilWhip

Have you continued to lose weight after adding the cheese and eggs. What are the results of your last test?

I'd look at either:

1. Adding in 5g of veggie carbs to take you to 10g/day

or

2. Instead of the 5g veg, maybe trying having a nightly glass of wine

Yeah, I think it depends on the results of the past week.

Week 4 results are in! Cool

Looks like the loss slowed down a bit with the addition of eggs and cheese. I think I should continue the same WOE for another week or so, just to see what happens.

Since I find it too hard to stick to IF and eat this many calories, I've given that up, and I've also ditched the exercise idea, since I did not get around to it this last week. I started this experiment leaving those out, and, so, I'll continue that way.

I'm DONE with dairy! Mad It's just not worth it anymore.

For the last week, I've had gut issues, constipation, belly bloating, sinus problems, and crazy cravings. Now I've got a brick in my colon and a stuffed up head! Sad I know other Bus members who have had similar problems with this crap, and, so, it's official. Aside from a little butter for dipping seafood in, I'm all through with the cow pus! Yup

It's not even a paleo food. It's an agricultural concoction that has caused me way too much grief. Well, no more! I'm shippin' this stuff back to Wisconsin, where it belongs! LOL They can have it all. They can have my entire corporation. jeff, tell the governor to make my restraining order permanent! I don't care if I never see another dairy cow again! Wink

I don't want to eat goat... or it's pus! Thank you very much.

I'd rather eat rubbish than any animal pus. Yup

It did slow down a bit, but I don't know that we can really blame the eggs and cheese.  You still lost twice as much as in week 1, when you were doing only meat and water.  And you still lost about 2 pounds, which ain't bad.

Your other issues with dairy are certainly a concern, but dairy certainly did not prevent weight loss.
