Had a nice easter dinner with some friends and had some really good fatty pork. Avoided all the sweets. Don't have an appetite for that stuff anymore, which is really good. Did have a little wine, but, unfortunately, had to stay sober enough to work on all this fricken school work piled up to the sky. Oh, well, at least later tonight I will be drinking with other friends.
Lately, I've been eating lots of fatty beef ribs and fatty pork sausage, etc. Animal fat makes me feel so good, and it really does melt off the body fat. I have also been noticing a trend in body fat gains and losses. This may only apply to me, but, it might be something that anyone could find true for themselves. Even if I have a few stray carbs here and there, just cuz I'm in front of some potatoes or even bread, and especially wine , it really has not been affecting me, and I have actually been losing mm in my waist.
First off, the hard core sugar is never in my diet anymore, so this is definitely part of it. But, I think the more I manage my stress with sleep, booze, social interactions, sex, music, positive thoughts, spiritual connections, etc., the easier I lose and the less I gain, and the better I feel, and the less I eat, and the less carbs I eat. What I'm saying, is it's all hormones, and those hormones are extremely affected by stress, which can be caused by many things. The happier I am and the less worried I am about anything, the easier my carb cravings and overall hunger are under control, and the more my body fat melts away. When I stress out about stuff and feel overwhelmed, just the opposite happens.
I know I'm very lucky to have such wonderful classmates that are all helping each other through this semester from hell. It's really helped me out a lot. Social support is something I need probably more than anything. I value my friends more than anything else in my life. Connections are key for me. Relaxing with music and wine and other activities is very beneficial as well. I know there are those who think ZC and that's it, end of story, but, I do believe our hormones are skewed by other factors than just food in. We are not simple machines. It's much more complex than that.
Anyway, for whatever it's worth, just thought I'd throw that out there. I've been feeling really balanced lately, and I think my hormones are more balanced and thus I'm losing and maintaining body fat easily, even with some carbs and booze and java. Of course, I'm not addicted to booze and only drink it at appropriate times, and it is not affecting my ability to function and get things done. I'm doing very well this semester. So, that is certainly an important caveat to consider with any substance use.
Call me crazy, but, for me at least, I think there's a holistic perspective to physical health that is too often ignored. It aint my modality to ignore it, that's for sure.
ciao and happy easter everyone

Dean..I couldn't have said it better myself. Stress is a huge factor for me right now..and maybe that is why I am not losing again? And no..it's not just about food in..or ZC..we are complex organisms.
Perhaps I am more so than others..

Great point, and I agree wholeheartedly. What we eat is one major factor in what goes on hormonally, but it certainly isn't the only factor. _________________ Eat, Drink and Be Merry, For Tomorrow We'll Die |

Hope Shawn shows up with the Kool-Aid real soon.

Dean- I agree with you on the holistic approach. Social support and finding ways to cope with stress are the only ways I can keep myself on track. Lack of sleep can also be a killer for me.
I want to add that I didn't think you were a sex fiend, or anything. I was just joking around with you. I am not into sharing (at least in the real world...the back of the bus is another story) because I prefer the one on one relationship, but I in no way was trying to make a statement about you. Besides, my reputation on the bus has been far from spotless, so why would I throw stones? |

Thanks, Heather.
I too prefer the one on one relationship over any other way, trust me. It's way more intimate and special that way. The very few times that other things occur is just that... very few. Thing is, most people get to do a one on one relationship and not have anyone think anything bad about them. That's not always the case for some of us. That can really be a bad scene. It is pretty painful to have to consider the consequences about being with someone, instead of just being with someone. For some of us, that is just part of life. It's pretty fucked up. Dean- While I haven't had that happen to me for that reason, I know what you mean. I have had similar painful social situations from other things. People can be pretty brutal/ hateful when they want to be. Most should just fix what is going on in their own lives, instead of constantly pulling others down. I'm so glad the Bus is nothing like that. |

Hardly eating anything these days cuz I'm too busy to do so. Don't have any appetite at all. I've been eating lots of ground beef and eggs cuz they were on really good sales. Got a ton of butter on a great sale as well. Eating up the last bit of my chuck eyes. Wish I had more time to exercise. Have been gettin' out to the park where it's nice and sunny. I do love that. Wanna get more free weight workouts in. Gonna have to work on that.
Hope everyone is enjoying the ride.
BTW, where is Shawn? I think somebody better check jeff's basement!

I'm not sure where I'm getting more ESC. IRL or in my journal.
I may have to start attending some SAA meetings at the back of the Bus.
One thing's for sure, the stressors that have been thrown at me have all been answered by serious relaxation therapy. _________________ When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.

Coffee is something I have a strange relationship with. I was stressed out awhile ago about school shit and started drinking it, hoping it would "help". Yah, better life thru chemistry. I think it's better life thru sex, but, nobody asked me. Anyway, I have been getting too wired on java. Just a couple cups a day and it really wires me. I don't like that feeling. So, anyway, I didn't have any today, and I feel fine. Had plenty of "energy" (alertness?) to do some major school shit (I'm BURNED out on this shit! ), and everything was fine. And, the spooky thing is, I have had zero withdrawal symptoms. Usually it's horrible. So, I think I'm gonna ditch the java (and that god awful half & half) and just stick to the meat and wine diet. I meat and wine and I'm stickin' to it.
I should say wine, meat and butter diet.
Mrs. Brown drove out of town
Takin' her wife, she took her wife
Takin' her wife, she took her wife
Tongues and lips
And fingertips
Are all you need to make these trips
We're goin' on a sex drive
We're goin' on a sex drive
Mr. Green caused quite a scene
Bringin' his mate on a double date
Bringin' his mate on a double date
Slips and dips
And move your hips
It's all you need to make these trips
We're goin' on a sex drive
We're goin' on a sex drive
You might wanna cum too
You might feel in the mood
Cuffs and whips
And Kool-Aid sips
Are all you need for Magic Bus trips
We're goin' on a sex drive
We're goin' on a sex drive
Mrs. Brown drove out of town
Yes she did
We're goin' on a sex drive
We're goin' on a sex drive
Hops and skips
And it really rips
It's hormonal chemical acid trips
We're goin' on a sex drive _________________ When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.

Lynne,
Thanks for asking.
It is not so much a pain as it is stiffness, sorta like some inflammation or arthritic condition. It is much worse in colder weather, but, even in warmer weather, first thing in the morning, there is this stiffness feeling in the left side of my left leg about half a foot or so below my hip. It radiates down the left side of my left leg and if I lift my leg up while keeping it straight, there is more pronounced stiffness. However, as I begin moving around, this stiffness goes away. So, you tell me what that is. I don't know how much it is diet related, since I've had it for about six months and changing things in my diet doesn't seem to help. Of course, I haven't eaten veggies. Maybe that is what I lack.
I would sure like to keep this stiffness confined to just my middle leg. _________________ When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.

i've developed a pain that i'm not sure where it came from.
it's in the muscle below my elbow on top of my arm..
those muscles..
i can't lift a frying pan with that hand because of the pain..
i've had it for over 2 weeks now..
a new pain.
don't remember hitting myself in that muscle/arm..
weird..
was wondering if your pain went away..
apparently not.
odd..
how are you otherwise?

I've no need to get modern medicine involved with this. I'm sure it is just inflammation issues. It is really not that bad.
Otherwise, I'm good to go... just so busy with stuff it's unbelievable.
I just try my best to squeeze whatever quality time I can in and keep the good relations goin'. You know. That's life.

I read this as "orgasms". Woops, where is MY mind tonight...
Dean, good luck with school. Sounds like you're doing what is working for you. I think that Cortisol is the stress hormone that makes it hard to lose fat? Sounds like yours is doing good, keep it up!

Jessica- Complex orgasms sounds like a good thing.
Dean- At least you aren't having any trouble with that third leg. Now that would be stressful. |

Oh I dunno..there are some pretty "fun" looking bicycle contraptions out there.....nevermind..
I think Dean would kick me off the board if I posted one. _________________ Flap-a-doodle-kick-a-poodle-kitty-kitty-cow-cow ~ Fat Freddy's Cat |

Jessica, complex orgasms are the best type to have.
Yah, my third leg has been getting one hell of a workout, lately.
Heather, if y0u ride that bike down here, y0u won't have to exercise alone.
Went to a friend's place tonight (upon insistent request) and had the most divine rib eye (about two inches thick with tons of fat) smothered in home-made Hollandaise sauce.
That and a little and a little hit the spot just fine.
Complex orgasms. You bet.
