Egg/CreamCheese "Roll" with homemade meatloaf patty & mustard, another with melted mozzarella, potfull of green & white tea, 3 steakspice-seasoned chicken thighs, much water, homemade rich chicken broth.
Managed to stave it off for 5 days (I blame my health on LC) but am slowly succumbing to continued exposure to DH's cold...dang it. Will add ginger and garlic essence to my lovely broth, maybe toss in an egg. _________________ Jude

I caught cooties. I hope it isn't strep. I am putting splenda in my tea so I am out for the next day or so. I will still be eating carnivore, but I need my mint tea with splenda until this crud clears up. Bleh! _________________ http://wifezillasway.blogspot.com/ |

Okay I have a question. I have been eating all meat since Friday. Baked chicken (legs and thighs) for lunch on Friday, t-bone steak for dinner. Saturday was pork chops for lunch and t-bone for dinner. Sunday was hot wings from Hooters (naked and the "hot" sauce) for lunch and 1 pork chop for dinner. Monday, I had pork chops for lunch and pork tenderloin for dinner and a couple oz of raw cheddar cheese and then today it was pork tenderloin for lunch. Lot of pork lately. After lunch today, I had the worst intestinal pain and got rid of alot of crap. Trying to be diplomatic here. It seems there was way more waste than what I have been eating and the stomach pains were not pleasant. Could it be pork? Or could it be the hotwings clear from Sunday? Or the cheese even though it was very little?

Kim- One possibility...I know that the intestines have to get used to a change in the way of eating. If you were having more vegetation before, the contractions of the intestines have to increase in strength. If it is that, it is supposed to get better as your body adapts. Then again, it could have just been a stomach bug...who knows. |

Kim - could have been anything, really. If this was a big change compared to how you usually eat...or could be the pork, if you're sensitive? Could have been a "detox" type of reaction? (I hate saying detox)
Can't count today - had a sf pop and some salsa in my ground beef.
Thanks Red :) Going well so far! _________________ www.fearandloathinginthekitchen.com |

No way of knowing for sure which caused the intestinal upset. Could have been a combination. I doubt it's the hotwings from Sunday. Usually, the onset for upset will occur 30 mins to couple of hours following the ingestion of the offending food. _________________

Kim,
Wanted to echo what everyone else is saying. It is always true for me that GI issues have to work themselves out, since you are changing things so drastically, but they will eventually work themselves out just fine. BTDT many times. Well if timing is the issue it would be the pork. For some reason, pork has not been tasting too good to me lately in the form of chops and the tenderloin. Now give me bacon, ham, or sausage, (I know all filled with extra crap)--Yum.

| kim, it can't come out unless it's in there. our intestines always have something and are never completely empty....unless you're going for a scope and have drank that gallon of electrolyte solution. even so, i've still seen some crap during endoscopy. so it sounds like you just had a major evacuation of accumulated crap. this is good. you should feel way better when that's done. the cramping is, of course the normal movement of your intestines just maybe stroger and more determined to cleanse. |

I miss my hot cocoa. But after a month or so of pretty crap eating, this is going really well! I'm eating a tad more than I'd like, but chalk that up to not smoking (bc I feel like something is missing)
I've decided that the whole acculturation thing has merit, and that texture is a big reason I don't eat this way all the time. I want something crunchy!
Just got a meat order in - sausages, belly and back bacon, rib steaks, texas ribs, hot dogs, chicken wings, smoked salmon, ham steak...all organic and local, with no filler or additives. I will be eating WELL. The hot dogs are insanely good (and nitrate-free to boot! woo hoo!)
Kim - I've had that happen before, it was like someone hit the "eject" button in my colon. Very weird - but I figured I needed it. _________________ www.fearandloathinginthekitchen.com |

If I can't get some pig or beef fat to render, I will go for pork rinds. :) I have got to stop nibbling at cheese. _________________ www.fearandloathinginthekitchen.com |

During the holidaze I was eating lots of cheese and ham, just so I'd stay away from all the other junk. I've gotten away from that now, but, for the first six days of this Contest, I have been using pork rinds with sour cream, and I'm finally out. I'm not gettin' any more, cuz I'm gonna start (slowly) cleaning things up. I am proud to say that I ditched the hot sauce that I was mixing in with the sour cream. I am now down to hot wing sauce and the stuff for pork belly that Red turned me onto. Those are it. Unless Red suggests some more wonderful things like that, I will refrain from using any other condiments.
I really envy people like Kristelle, who can eat only raw meat and fat and organs. That must take a lot of willpower! I think that has got to be extremely healthy. I think her issues must be detox issues, cuz she has cut so many toxins out. Red and Heather have also gone a long way in removing toxins. Even though I'm eating carnivorously, I'm still gettin' lots of toxic treats in, like coffee and dairy and processed meats. Oh, well, will just have to keep (slowly) removing things. Can't go too fast, or it will all backfire on me. But these women are such good inspiration. _________________ When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.

Yay! Back on track! I ended up being forced to go to a restaurant for a business lunch yesterday and the absolute only gluten-free thing they had on the entire menu (was a Chinese restaurant) was plain steamed vegetables, which I had to get because there was literally no other option and no one would let me just sit there and drink water. How ironic - vegetables. Then someone ordered ice cream and I had a few bites of it in order to get them to leave me alone. I'm now officially bloated as hell.
Today:
9 eggs
Bowl of stew beef.
It was a protein-ey day. _________________ Red |

I am with everyone above who wants something sweet. I was drinking hot chocolate almost every morning.
Today I ate 4 pretty big hamburger patties and 2 slices of jack cheese. I feel like I am eating a little bit too much.

I'm finally getting a bit of energy. I have been under major induction flu. That last week of January was bad. I ate two whole bags of chocolate peanut cluster pieces. I also ate cinnamon rolls and a few donuts to boot. I felt so anxious and weird. I actually was so glad when February got here, but now I have had to go through major metabolic changes and it aint pretty. The good thing is, I have slowed down on my food intake, which was a bit too high for the first few days of this Contest, especially with dairy. Been doing a lot of IFing lately, which has really helped. I'm not goin' back to carbs of any kind! I'm totally determined to stay free of them, and this Contest is just the ticket to kick that WOE off!
Looks like everyone is doing exceptionally well, especially Kim! Let's go for 29, Kim! We can do it. There may be some more that haven't reported in yet, and I really hope we can hit at least 250 for the Bus!

Back on track yesterday afer a couple of days with wine. I opened one of those big 1.5L bottles for the Super Bowl on sunday, it took me a couple of days to finish it off. I couldn't let it go bad. _________________ Eat, Drink and Be Merry, For Tomorrow We'll Die |

OMG I can't tell you the number of things I've eaten/drunk in the name of 'I can't let it go bad'. Mainly dairy things. _________________ Red |

Still hanging on... Sooo many sweets in the office.
Oh! A question! How does the challenge feel about vinegar? It IS an animal product. But then so is ethanol.

Hmmm.....I've never thught of vinegar. I suppose maybe in small amounts it could be considered something like a condiment or a spice. _________________ Eat, Drink and Be Merry, For Tomorrow We'll Die |

According to Fitday, 1 Tbs has just under 1g of carb and about 2 calories. _________________ Eat, Drink and Be Merry, For Tomorrow We'll Die |

Are you sure that's not balsamic? My sources 2g per *cup*. Less if distilled.
Pork butt is on sale again. I figured to Q some up. And while I'm fond of a KC style sauce, I planned to go more Carolina to keep with the program.
So... Basically vinegar and red pepper. But you use more along the way of 4 or 5 Tablespoons.
Also, I had planned to try something that has been rolling around in my head for a while. Namely a "BBQ rendered pork fat vinaigrette".

Just wanted to report that I am feeling extremely well today, even with less sleep than I was getting for the last week. My energy is starting to pick up and I can hear a faint whistle sound off in the distance. I'm sure it's the keto train comin' 'round the bend. _________________ When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.

Glad to hear it Dean! Must be something in the air, for I am feeling good too. First day I haven't felt like eating everything in sight. Made it til 5pm with no problem, and man it felt good. I've eaten soooo much these past few days.
Off the dairy today, bc I've been retaining water (3lbs worth) from so much cheese, I think. Used coconut milk and some sweetener in coffee, so today is uncounted. Did have a nice braised elk shank for dinner though
