No digestive problems today. Luckily I didn't really get the induction flu this time like I did in October when I first began low carb. I felt pretty weak for a month with muscle spasms so Dean I feel for you.

Off the dairy today, bc I've been retaining water (3lbs worth) from so much cheese, I think. Used coconut milk and some sweetener in coffee, so today is uncounted. Did have a nice braised elk shank for dinner though
 |
Ditto here, Tracy! I had my usual coffee with heavy cream first thing, but I didn't eat a thing until 11pm! I felt so good, though... so totally different than I felt on Tuesday! I was so out of it on Tuesday that I started questioning what I was doing. This always happens, so I knew to just stick it out. On November 1st of last Fall, I started in on this WOE and went through the same exact thing, and any other time I do this. This is the lowest I've ever taken my carbs, and the keto train is runnin' all around my brain for sure now.
I too have cut way back on the amount of food I've been eating, and will not trip on the amounts. If I'm not hungry, I'm just not gonna worry about it. I'm just eating once in the evening. Some days it's like 6pm and other days it's like 9pm or later, like today. I hear ya on the dairy. I have been seriously questioning it. I forgot to jump on the scale today, but tomorrow, hopefully I'll remember. If I don't see loss, I may be ditchin' the dairy as well. jeff will just have to go to the legislature and plead on my behalf. _________________ When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.

We could probably get you a temporary variance......but really......how would it look for the CEO of the nation's largest dairy producer to not be eating dairy? _________________ Eat, Drink and Be Merry, For Tomorrow We'll Die |

Cooties?!? Hmmmm, I think it was actually (for me) a delightful cold/flu thing. I managed to deter and defer it while the DH lounged on the sofa and whinged for 5 days, but then I finally succumbed.
I am now in recovery, I think (witness that I am actually doing email) ... meanwhile, I have actually managed to clock 2 full days, mostly eggs, some cheeses, pork chops, and more eggs. The rest of the time, still VLC, but "sugarfree" cough syrup (sorbitol) and some greenery here and there and a "sugarfree" energy drink (ha!) put paid to the rest of the time. _________________ Jude

I call it cooties, my dad calls it "the creeping crud". Normally when I get it (whatever you want to call it) I am sick for 2 weeks. Now, with low carb, it has only been a couple of days I am almost over it already. WOO HOO!

| although i haven't been involved in the contest, i do see the simplicity of eating carnivore. i don't even have to think...never have to run to the store for a head of lettuce, etc. my freezer is always full of meat. i have still been using onions and shrooms on a regular basis, though. i don't go for dairy so much; haven't had cream, vacuum packed most of my cheese. have had some yogurt/buttermilk. all in all though my eating is slowly getting easier. |

So far so good today. I have been craving sweet a bit, but nothing too annoying. One problem I seem to have is getting enough fat. I haven't really wanted dairy all that much, but I want pork fat! Stupid butcher near me is out...again. Apparently it is in much demand. If I drive to the other end of town I can get beet fat or hog jowls. I do have bacon on hand. I just want to nibble off the fat though. I feel wasteful when I do that. Sheesh. I never thought I would crave fat. _________________ http://wifezillasway.blogspot.com/ |

Red, sour cream! You rebel you. How'd it go down?
IFing again, which feels good. I need to make some boiled eggs or something to keep in the fridge though, so I stop snacking on cheese during my eating window. No digestive troubles or sinus troubles, but I have broken out with a few zits. Heading to the flea market tomorrow for my favorite meat sticks :)
It's amazing to me how much I miss diet pop - I was definitely drinking too much of it. _________________ www.fearandloathinginthekitchen.com |

IF all day, then had a 10 oz steak with 3 fried eggs. I was helping my brother move, so I didn't end up eating a lot due to being away from home and having to do with what was available at the diner down the street.
No weight loss for me, but then I'm doing what I was doing before. Plus, I had 2 days in there that included vegetables (business lunches) and one day that included 2 glasses of wine wine (friend's b-day), so maybe those days interfered with any progress. _________________ Red |

Oh, the sour cream went OK ish, Tracy. No big obvious change, although my eczema seems to be acting up again for no good reason. I'm going to cut out dairy again, except butter, to see if that helps. _________________ Red |

No loss - I'm up 2lbs of water because I've been eating so much $@!#& cheese and cream. Seems I can only take so much of the stuff before I start getting zits. I had a ton of cream yesterday evening, and woke up in the middle of the night feeling REALLY sick and crampy - cream was on it's last "good" day, so could be why, I'd also taken about 2g mag to clean myself out and see if it helped the bloating. Never felt ill/cramped from mag before.
Backing away from dairy, slowly. A serving once a day is one thing, but constant cheese/cream intake is a whole other. _________________ www.fearandloathinginthekitchen.com |

I'm with Kim on the 9 for 9 and feelin' fine!
I said move over honey
I'm traveling on that line
I said we're traveling on the one after 909
Yah... the keto train!
I'm with Red, and the others doin' it, on the IFing. Love the convenience (and the high) of that!
I'm with Tracy on the dairy deal! So, to answer Sassy, I'm stalled on the weight. But, I'm not doin' this particularly to lose weight. I'm doin' it to get my diet focused around ZCarnivore WOE and to break free from any junk I was eating. How to break free from the dairy may be the next challenge for me. Just don't tell the stockholders. _________________ When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.

I've been stalled for a very long time and the only reason I lost 4# was because of the fluid loss with the intestinal upset. At least one good thing came out of the gastritis and that was that it broke my stall. _________________

I haven't lost an ounce yet, but that's not really the object of the exercise. I want to feed my body good natural stuff and keep what I have got in tip top condition. Looking good so far........though a couple of pounds loss wouldn't go unappreciated. |

I am finally losing again, but there would be no way to say if it was from carnivore, since I have also increased my protein percentage and cut back on the calories. As long as it is working for me, then I don't have to know exactly why. I have only lost 2 more pounds, but anymore I am always a slow loser. |

I started out the year with 60 pounds to lose, and now have 52 left to even reach a healthy body fat percentage. My lean body mass is usually between 140 and 145 pounds. (unusual, I know)

Heather,
From what I've seen, you have the determination and discipline to reach whatever goals you set. I admire your consistency in your eating and especially your exercise. Keep up the good work, cuz you know it's gonna pay off. _________________ When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.

Thanks, Dean. I appreciate that. I know I have the determination to keep at it no matter how long it will take. |

Heather, you are seriously inspiring me to get on my treadmill. jeff has told me (in private, because of the ratings ) what is inside Suzanne's toybox. I've just gotta get there and see for myself. _________________ When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.

Hmmmm, discussions of toyboxes....
I've lost about 5 (and after being stuck for a very very very long time). However, I've also been down with a fairly severe cold/flu thing which played hell with my appetite for much of that time.
But I'll take it. ;) _________________ Jude

I went ahead and weighed myself and I am down at least 5.6 pounds since starting this. I have been eating a little cheese, usually 2 oz or less and not every day although I did eat a little over 4 oz yesterday and some deli ham for lunch. I like eating this way although like others have said I do miss some things like diet pop once in a while. That was a big weakness of mine and I know it is not good for me but it is addictive and I even drank the noncaffienated kinds. I have tried sparkling mineral water a couple of times and that helps. I think its the bubbles.

Hi,
I'd like to join in. I've been eating carnivorously for many months now so how many days should I put for myself? _________________ "When you give up your dream, you die" |

Dean, just think of the many hours of fun you'll have... and you'll earn all those ESC bonus miles. Besides, all the workouts will be good for your organs. |

Full disclosure: I had Cuban Brunch yesterday. I'm still counting it. However, some of the food was lightly sauced. I did scrape the sauce off. But it was still sauced enough to be "just over the line". If I were making this this myself I would not count the day. Since I wasn't in control of the situation I opted to my best to Bear style it. Dean, if you want to demote me 1 go right ahead.
23 hours of fast and counting. All you can eat. I never could resist a challenge.
