Dean,
thank you soooo much for that compliment. i really appreciate that! it really makes me feel hopeful and not so embarrassed of myself. Just today i was thinking about how many times i have failed and thinking that maybe you guys on the bus don't believe i could do it. But your right, i just never give up..i always have hope and believe someday i am gonna get this right..i hope this is the time Dean! I know low carb is the best way and i just gotta figure out how to stick to it without letting society around me affect my eating choices...its hard sometimes.
Oh well, i will be doing my grocery shopping after church tomorrow before we go to the Superbowl party and i plan on starting on Monday. i am really glad you have a challenge that i can join...i really will need the suport. thanks for always welcoming me back with open arms and believing in me! _________________ back to LCing for the zillionth time..maybe this time is a charm??? |

I am sick of feeling like crap! i have become a sugarholic lately and eat junk food and crap and fast food and ...argh.
shockingly i havent gained any weight..actually i have lost about 20 lbs in the past 6 months...BUT...
i just am so lethargic and need so much sleep and sometimes have heartburn..and i just know i am hurting my body by eating this crappy way!
sigh...
I really want to go low carb again... i just dont know if i can do it..i have failed so many times...sigh
i was thinking of BEAR and his diet...and wondering if i should try it his way..the whole meat, eggs, cheese, butter thing...
I dont know..i know i love eggs and cheese and steak...
just thinking.. _________________ back to LCing for the zillionth time..maybe this time is a charm??? |

Hi Karen,
Thought I'd pop in and say hi.
I myself have just recently started over - I know how tough it can be.
Don't think of your previous attempts as failures - they were experiences and hopefully good practice for the real commitment
You sound like you're ready to do this, so go for it - you have nothing to lose.
Here's what I am doing - I've committed myself to 30 days of strict carnivore eating. I find I feel overwhelmed if I get to far ahead of myself. I figure 30 days is easy enough. I also have committed myself to writing in my journal every single day - even if it's only to jot down what I've eaten, it helps keep me in check.
Set yourself a short term goal and just do it - there's so much support here and you've got this journal to keep yourself accountable!
Best of luck to you! |

That's great advice, MM. For many people, a series of short goals works better than "this is for the rest of my life." Even if it has to be one week or one day at a time. _________________ Eat, Drink and Be Merry, For Tomorrow We'll Die |

Karen, I share your pain. I am the "caving in to cravings queen"
We never give up even when we fall down we always pull ourselves up and start again.
It also took me about 40 years to kick cigarettes but I finally did it 5 years ago.

well here i am AGAIN!
I have been mentally preparing to go low carb for about 2 wks now.
I am going to do Atkins, its the only thing that ever worked for significant loss.
i tried the Atkins BULLETINBOARD..but just didnt feel all that comfortable there. i think i will just hang here instead.
I will be starting in a few more days..probably monday or tuesday..gotta go shopping first.
i miss everyone around here..
i hope this is it for me...i have over 100 lbs to lose...can i finally do it??
i feel MORE ready than i have felt in a long long time. I am sick of feeling lethargic aND BLAH! _________________ back to LCing for the zillionth time..maybe this time is a charm??? |

hi jeff, kataryna and heather L,
thanks for the warm welcome and the support!
i started atkins today!! wooo hoo! its been a few weeks of mental preparation and lots of reading to get me here. i read
the entire book "Life Without Bread" last week, i have been re-reading Dr. Atkins NEw Diet Revolution over the past few days and i have been posting back over at ALC the past few days and just looking at success stories and after photos non-stop.
i am so ready to go all the way with this. I am done dieting and ready to accept the ONLY way is to go LC for LIFE!
Glad to see you all!! _________________ back to LCing for the zillionth time..maybe this time is a charm??? |
