Yep.....sure sounds hormonal.

I'm having a few issues that I thought might be fat related - my hair is falling out again (hasn't happened in years) and I'm weak as a kitten - my muscles are just blech...so weak. I feel alright otherwise - in fact, I feel pretty good but something is just 'off'.
The fat wasn't it (that's for sure)...so now I'm thinking it's hormonal. Hopefully it's just some kind of shift for the better that will level off soon. (I'm also very horny lately - which is a bit unusual). |
MM: I care about you, please see your doctor. I'm going to sound like a mom but here goes:
You are right. Your hormones are off. I know medication in the past stopped working, but maybe there is an new medication they can use?
Many PCOS women also have thyroid problems, usually hypothyroidism (low thyroid function). Not only does hypothyroidism contribute to weight problems, it can also contribute to hair thinning. Some women with PCOS have both an excessively high level of testosterone and an underactive thyroid. It's not uncommon to have multiple factors involved in female hair loss. _________________ http://www.fitday.com/fitness/Pub...urnals.html?Owner=surfergirlpuppy

Surfergirl - you do sound like a mom - lol.
I appreciate your concern, but I'm just not that worried. In fact, I'm hoping that this is actually a good sign...a flux in hormones and a shift to normality perhaps?
Anyway, I have had my thyroid tested and it fell in the 'normal' level (of course there is lots of controversy about the testing itself) and my testosterone IS high...very high in fact.
I'm tired of pills and potions though...tired of doctors too, I think I am slowly healing my body and will wait it out a while longer to see what happens. |

I think ditching all doctors and doing health research was the best life-saving tactic in my life.
You're on the right track MM. Trust yourself. _________________ Carnivore (Jun 12/09) 227/196.2/137 Max. wt: 247 (Jul-08)

Those are lamb chops - found them on discount at the local grocery store because they were going out of date.
I had never cooked lamb before - so I asked Lynne the best way to cook them and she advised a cast iron pan. (thanks!!)
I threw them in the cast iron with a little butter and got a nice sear on them at high heat. Once I had seared all sides I cut the heat off and left them in the pan to cook a bit more. No seasonings.
They were good...lots and lots of fat, and very easy to make. I think next time I'd go just a little rarer though. |

I grow tired of this hormonal nightmare...
Scale is up again...sex drive is ridiculous...hot flashes are frequent...and CRAVINGS are out of control. It's just bizarre really.
Took two more pregnancy tests (I'm getting paranoid) because I am also very late. THANKFULLY still saying negative.
I fasted for 36 hours because frankly, I figured eating nothing was better than trying to eat with these massive cravings.
I finally ate some pork shoulder today and do feel better.
I'm not coming here to bitch and moan (okay, maybe I am)...more that I want to have a record of what's going on.
Hopefully the worst is over...we shall see. |
